Years and years ago, I came out of a public loo and had gone about a hundred yards down the road before a lady rushed up to me and pulled down my skirt which had got caught in my knickers. I must have been revealing a lot because a man said shame, he'd been enjoying the view. (I was young then!) :o

Far more recently, in an airport, came out of the loo and joined the check-in queue, and another lady in my party reached down and pulled away the long tail of loo paper (clean!) that had got caught up and was hanging behind like a tail. God Knows how I'd done that! :o

All you can do is look nonchalant, while you quietly die inside! :D

Code- you are worth plenty so don't beat yourself up or push yourself too far. Your DH needs a kick up the rear for making you feel that way!

I'm glad I'm in good clumsy company here though! I was fell up a down escalator! :rotfl: I'd hopped on it then realised that DH wasn't following me so tried to run back to the top, slipped and fell, slid down and just had to lie there until I go to the bottom! Oh the shame! It really hurt and I cried a little too! I also had a spectacular fall in Epcot (Disney World) in the Italy section, there's a little raised area right in the middle of the courtyard and my flip flop caught on the top step and I went flying and skidded a few feet! DH just laughed and walked away trying to act like I wasn't with him! I may have cried again. Pretty much every time I fall over I cry, which just makes the shame worse! :o

Embarrassing incidents-Meeting MIlliefleur in a restaurant for the first time. I was all dressed up, full make up, looking as good as I could. I walked up to a table where she was sitting, tripped over a step leading up to the area and literally fell on my knees at her feet as if I was worshipping her. Due to arthritis I then couldn't get up and her and WaSp had to help me while other diners giggled. Milliefleur burst out laughing and I knew we would get on. We then went on to get very drunk together because things really couldn't have got worse after that point and all thoughts of making a good impression had disappeared. That led to WaSp's embarrassing moment of his mum and girlfriend loudly staggering off to share the one bathroom together.

Oh, and Milliefleur brings it up often and giggles, then cuddles me.

Stupid cold is stupid. Coughing and sneezing everywhere and I need a nap. Hugs to all feeling scared and sad and poorly today, I shall return later.

I can relate to SO many of those incidents unfortunately! I am spectacularly clumsy. :o

When I was up in the fells on Sunday, I was very conscious of going over on my ankles (I've severely sprained them numerous times) or falling down....I fell down Catbells once, still have the scar on my forehead! That's probably one of the reasons that despite living in the Lakes, I don't climb mountains very often!

    .

I apologise, but reading about those two events made me giggle! :o
Re the escalator one, it reminds me of one of the funniest scenes in a movie called Sex Drive where a man dressed as a giant donut falls down an escalator. I couldn't stop laughing for over an hour! :rotfl:

WaS, you should have done the Wayne World "we're not worthy'" thing! :rotfl:

Ah yes, walking. Again with Milliefleur and WaSp, taking a post Sunday lunch stroll through the nearby woods about 3 months after I had met her. Milliefleur says "Watch out for that rabbit hole, WaS." I say "What rabbit hole?" and promptly stick my foot right in it and end up in a heap on the very muddy ground. WaSp and Milliefleur then had to support me either side to get me home and take me to hospital where I was treated for a badly sprained ankle. Milliefleur brings that up a lot, too and reminds me that a simple curtsey will suffice in future because it really isn't necessary for me to keep throwing myself to the ground at her feet.

I've fallen down an escalator too. And once I got off the bottom of an escalator, turned the wrong way and somehow got trapped in a window display! My sister couldn't walk as she was laughing so much :rotfl::p

GG, am v jealous that you live in the lakes! I used to live near there and miss it so much.
  • First meal in a restaurant with WaSp. I tried Won tun soup for the first time, not realising that these little balls of meat and pasta are very firm. I tried to cut one with my spoon. The won tun flew out of the bowl at WaSp, and the bowl of very hot soup upended itself all over my white silk skirt. This was whilst sitting on a very large table with other diners. I insisted I was fine and our evening could continue and said I wasn't bothered at all (I was mortified) about walking into a wine bar later with a big stain of yellow soup all over my skirt and burnt legs...

That's it, then, WaS, from now on you'll be known as Wanton WaS! :rotfl:

Sorry, but I'm with your sister on that one! :rotfl:

It's strange, I guess a lot of people (myself very much included) take the Lakes for granted and can't always see why anyone would want to come up here for their holidays. It's cold, wet, windy and damp most of the time. But, on days like Sunday when it was warm and sunny, we could totally see the appeal and enjoyed our day out.

Even though I'm physically fit enough to do all the walking, my uncle used to joke that I'd hyperventilate if I was more than a mile away from shops and that I'd need the air ambulance! Hill walking/mountain climbing and running runs deep in my family, but I guess I'm the black sheep....I can do it but I chose not too! :rotfl:

However, after really enjoying it the other day, I think we might take it up more. I've already ordered some new walking boots! I love the treat when you get to the top and you can have your sarnies and cup of tea! :D

Where abouts did you live tea?
