cupcake sorry to hear about your dog. This strikes a real chord with me as I have five, and although they drive me insane daily, I wouldn't be without them. If it's any consolation I'm sure there are lots of people out there looking for a new dog in their lives. Four of mine are rescues and they all have very quirky personalities. Three of them we got because no-one else seemed to want them - an old very large dog, a crazy constantly barking 18 month old that had already had three homes and a three-legged puppy whose litter mates had all got homes straight away. My point is that I'm sure your dog will find a loving home and you are doing the right thing for them.

Mothernerd love imagining being on a beach, thanks for the inspiration

Today is a SFD. Did lots of good deeds for my sister today - hoovered her house, hung curtains, cleaned windows, sorted out furniture moving etc.

Not much else to report, night all

  • Cupcake; sorry you had that tough decision to make; it sounds like you made the right choice though. Like magic cat said (I think) don't feel flat because it didn't work out! Lilt - please stay. Our shells will repel the cyber stalker! Mothernerd...love the beach! I live near the beach and swim and stretch out on the sand even I. The winter (yes, it is cold). Am reminded what a luxury it is to have it so close (I appreciate the beach you took is too was somewhat warmer!).

Almost a SFD today, but not quite! I left my wallet at work so took coppers from DD's money box around to the coop for bread (2.65) to bulk out a cauliflower cheese (cauli was a weekend YS bargain) for dinner for myself and a friend who stayed over tonight. Lovely checkout guy was there again :o even paying all in 2 and 5ps I didn't pluck up the courage to flirt!

I did cycle to work (first time in about 6 months) and felt so much better for it. Getting the fresh air and exercise on the way into work did me good. Aiming for the same again 2mrw...that way it won't matter that the fuel and engine warning light are on in my car
Payday 2mrw so I.can book it into garage then.
  • Payday today, sorted out my budget for this month - not as much towards savings as I would have liked, but I have now bought 3 flights, which is hopefully my travel plans for the rest of the year :) and paid bills etc, as well as getting everything straight in YNAB. About to go and do a grocery shop, clean the flat (when it's a respectable hour) and go to ikea in search of a wardrobe shelf. Hoping for a busy day so that tomorrow I've done all my jobs and can sit down and write my essay - and hopefully have a SFD after today's money leakage :D

  • wow speakingofart...you are up early and achieved a lot already! Payday here too...thank goodness! And I also have flights to buy...spooky! I am aiming for a SFD today (work, then at a friends for dinner) then a lot of life admin that will involve spending over weekend. I have a paying guest in though for whole weekend, so technically that covers the flights! Fridge is starting to look slightly random in contents, but I have fruit left (Challenge is encouraging me to spend on that are, but even though I make an effort, am not convinced I get to 5 a day. Feel bothered by that now though, whereas before I just felt like shaving every penny off the grocery bill). DD only with me for a few days of half term so am tempted to try to make what we have last. Grateful that at Xmas I squirrelled away a couple of nice bags of crisps, biscuits, choc etc so there are treats for the holidays. If I can find them!
    Happy Friday Everyone!

  • Wow people are busy bees this morning.

Will be a spend day today. Will need to top up some groceries and post a parcel for ebay. Got some more interest on other items, so fingers crossed. Found some small cardboard boxes in the recycling behind a shop next to nursery and pinches them. Till later

Wow turtles are rising early today must be Friday and someone mentioned a beach.

Well need petrol today, can't make it to the dentist without any. So spendy day. Will pop into M & S and treat myself to yummy food with my vouchers.

Paid another fifty pounds off my credit cards today. Such a happy turtle.

  • Hahaha mothernerd I have this image of dozens of turtle eggs buried in the sand, and us all unfurling ourselves flying down the beach together to the sea :D I very much like the exercise of thinking beach thoughts. I must continue this!!

Thanks for all of your support, as always you lovely lovely bunch. I suppose I should be flattered by the attention from my little friend but in reality they are a bit of a downer and constantly trying to bring me with them to places I don't think about very often in order to save my own sanity!! :D

    SFD #8 today
£2.10 has graced my bank from TCB. Better in mine than theirs eh ;)

Still under budgets and way under for groceries, with a lot still left over! :D I may do it this month :j:j

Hugs to you all. I am still using my 15 minutes wisely although I have expanded it into my usual diary time and am leaving the laptop resolutely off in the corner each evening. I am spending ages pampering, and even managing a bit before work in the mornings, and then sleeping much more which is allowing me to wake up earlier and be less stressed :D much obliged for my 15 minutes mothernerd... I seem to have gained a few hours!! ;)

breakdance push up: start in the crab position (sit on floor, feet flat, hands down, lift butt off floor as much as poss), then lift right hand and twist over to put it on floor and get into 'normal' press up position whilst lifting left foot off the floor and taking it under right leg to put it back (you can also keep left foot off floor and do a 1-legged press up!). Do a press up, then go back the way you came to return to the crab. Then do it the other way. When I do them, I reckon I look like a power ranger; in reality I probably look more like a flump!

I imagine them to be even more fun on a warm beach...!
