    Morning all

Sorry for the lack of check in yesterday, I was knackered after driving to Harry potter world and back. It was amazing and a SFD :j Took my mum with the tickets I got as a present and she bought my lunch and a cake :) She also gave me petrol money, which I had already budgeted for so I paid that off my debt yesyetday evening :)

Loveadove my parents live on a very posh street and there was a murder there when I was a kid. I would go and have a look and see how you feel, if it bothers you, then avoid it but if it doesn't then as you say usually it has a low crime rate.

Today will be a spendy day as OH and I are going for lunch at a new American style restaurant - I'm really excited.

Hope you all enjoy your Saturday

  • Going back to the fixing mini challenge, I've mended a pair of work trousers. The inside seam had randomly come apart - fortunately they are lined, so it didn't get too draughty!

As for free things at half term, we are just starting our break, but dd wants to spend a morning setting up her syl family stuff on the climbing frame to take a photo of them all. Should fill a few hours, if the pesky squirrel doesn't come and nick them... But she wants to do it when there is some sunshine!

Half way through the month, and it has flown by. Hope the next 2 weeks go smoothly for eveyone x

  • Ooh Apple that sounds like a lovely morning!!

We have rain, and thus we are spending the morning inside singing nursery rhymes with our rock band. This comprises me, Jelly, a giant jump on keyboard, a tambourine, a drum, a xylophone and a trumpet. Oh and a 'guitar' aka a plastic frying pan :rotfl: And a lot of baa baa black sheep and swapping instruments.

I got a new bank card on Thursday night. I let Jelly have it as she usually puts them in my purse. It has gone. Have checked the bins, and everywhere it could possibly be, and a few it couldn't be, just in case. No luck :( oops!

Today will be spendy but shall get lots out of the way whilst I do it :)

    Hugs to all xxx

Very MSE of Jelly... No bank card = No spending = LOTS of SFD's :money:

Joking apart I hope you find the card soon, if not cancel it as soon as possible.

Had to revisit my budgets as I think I was a little ambitious with the grocery challange so I have increased the budget from £70 to £100 but hoping to come in a bit under. Currently sitting at £61.04 but have most of what I need for the month except milk, fruit and veg and also some more household items which I forgot to budget in.

Also had to increase the Birthday/Social budget from £50 to £80 as I forgot that I had to factor in a present for a friend as her birthday was in January but we aren't meeting up till late in February.

Been a bit spendy here as I had to send off for a passport as mine ran out last year and although we are not planning to go away anytime soon I need to prove my identity for the house sale and as I don't have a driving licence I don't have any photo ID.

Today I am grateful for a good walk before the rain arrived, for the rugby, for dh cooking tonight's dinner (steak - yum!), for dd's joy when I finally mended her Belle dress, for stuffing and sewing up 10 bunny limbs.

  • oh watching the rugby and relaxing after working extra hours he's a star. Not done a great deal again today as DD1 is also ill today so spent the day on the sofas watching tv eating homemade soup. I also succumbed to a little snooze. Hoping DD1 is better tomorrow as we're supposed to be going to watch bird ringing and then off to see snowdrops. Famous around here and we've never been. Decided we need to discover more about where we live.
    Positives:
    1) OH
    2) DD1
    3) DD2
Enjoying my 15 minutes a day helping me to focus on what i want to do each day and appreciate what we have.

    Evening all

lilt - bless jelly for putting your card somewhere safe!

Today has been a spendy day as I took OH out for lunch at a restaurant we wanted to try. I know its against the rules but was nice to do something together, outside of the house, and it coincided with Valentine's Day, so was almost romantic ;)

Also helped sister finally move her bed into her house so she is all moved in and staying her first night there tonight. No exercise done except moving furniture and boxes.

Still spending my 15 minutes a day tidying my house, which is starting to make me feel like I am on top of things :) Thanks mothernerd

First things first... Lilty, I miss you over on your thread but can understand your reasons. I would feel the same.
    Hugs.

Loveadove... Well done you for asking for more specific feedback. You have so much experience, it will be interesting to see exactly what is the problem.
    Hugs to you as well.

Sazzle... what is eurekakakakakaka?? Sounds like a great day out.
    :)

Mothernerd... I quite often sound dumb when on the phone. It sounds stupid but people are much nicer to you and will take the time with you (and more likely to do what you want) if you are really polite (I am normally over-polite on the phone anyways) and sound embarassed then it's much better.
You can probably guess that being nervous and embarassed comes quite naturally to me
    :o

The idea of an ex-murder house or whatever wouldn't bother me. Like Lilty says, a good lock and being pro-active and keeping yourself safe and you're are sorted. If the crime rate is really low normally then I would class it as a rare occurence.
    :undecided

    Okies... on to us:

    * Sorry for the lack of posting. Due to work, I am not managing to post. I am reading though.
    * Spend free days - total of 8.
    * I lost a SFD due to buying petrol and also over spent BUT... I had 10p off a litre with tescimos so I ran my car down to fumes then refilled the whole tank. Hence why it is £45 and not £40. I have justified it to myself, I hope it makes sense to everyone else too.
    :)

So.... V Day. OH does not celebrate this. We have never celebrated this (apparently). However, today we went to the local botanical gardens and then out for lunch - OH paid.

It has been a really lovely day and a fantastic start to my holiday. Will definitely be posting more as I am off all week now. So excited for the break and kinda well needed too.
    :embarasse

Hope everyone else is doing okay. Sorry if I have missed anything. I can't remember the past few days posts.
    :(

P.S - new bank account is all set up and ready to go for 1st March. I am really excited about this. Will hopefully give me more money to throw out my credit card debt too.

    Happy birthday thriftylass.

Lots more ideas for fun days out (and in). Eureka is another place I haven't been to although I believe it's similar to the second floor at our Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester (been there lots with the boys and on my own). One of the boys went with school. Lots of fun sciency experiments which explain how things work in a fun way.

I need to update my signature as have spent money on yoghurts and on cheering DS3 up. Yoghurts because my eating has been decidedly unhealthy for the past few days so have yoghurts to put porridge oats in rather than toast.

DS3 wanted to go to the cosplay event in Telford but thought he couldn't afford it this year. Should have been seeing beloved this weekend. Their local cosplay group meeting which gf organised was today but then she found out she had to work all day. DS3 did some more work yesterday and decided he had earned the train fare to Telford. He got up at 4.30am this morning but some of the buses were missing so he couldn't get to the train station, so was back home before 7am and has slept all day. Knew he would be in a slump when he woke up.

Despite starting in good time I am still trying to complete my cousin's birthday gift for tomorrow. I may send something else later on when I can use the sewing machine again but want this to take tomorrow.

Found time to check the crocuses - twice as many as at the beginning of the week.

Today I am grateful for a lovely clear not too cold day, crocuses and simple food -leftovers for lunch and a sandwich later.
