Evening all
Spendy day today as needed to pay for my ticket to a charity function. Also got a few treats from the shop!
Did exercise but not tidied and now I'm tired, I'm not in the mood and have a 12 hour day tomorrow at work. I did however tidy up the garden so maybe that counts?
Interesting discussion regarding OHs and money. This is very topical in our house at the moment... OH and I have always paid the same amount into an account every month since we bought our house. (Before we bought our house, I paid for everything and then had to get him to pay me back.) Now I earn quite a bit more than OH, as he started a new career 2 years ago (I started my current career path 5 years ago) and I suggested that when I am debt free next year, we should start contributing the same percentage of our wages, meaning I would pay more and he would pay less than we currently do. This would also leave us with a surplus in the account for emergencies etc. OH was obviously listening attentively, as this month, he wondered why I hadn't put this in place; I reminded him that I had suggested it for when I am debt free. He now wants to start this plan immediately, as it benefits him and would mean our joint money isn't always so stretched. I'm keener to get DF first, particularly because some of my debt is stuff we have had together - takeaways, furniture, washing machines etc and some is from when he was last out of work and I paid for everything for a couple of months. Anybody got any suggestions? I would have to pay £175 less of my debt a month if we started the arrangement before next year.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

20min walk at lunch today plus LTW and NSD.
I received a letter informing me that our council tax band has been changed due to 'modifications' to the house. There haven't been any modifications since we bought it 3 years ago! My dad took one look and thinks we can appeal and win. He appealed against his own house changing band back in the 90's and now has an order stating that they cannot attempt to change the band as long as he lives there (which will be forever). I've left it up to him to call the valuations office tomorrow...
Today I am grateful for:
1. My dad always fighting my corner for me
2. My mum sewing me a new skirt for work
3. Plenty of veggies to make soup with for LTW the rest of the weekLetting Go NST #17

SFD today but only just. I didn't feel like cooking tonight and suggested we have fish & chips for dinner. OH said OK if that's what I want. Immediatley changed my mind as I didn't want to lose a SFD. Ended up cooking corned beef hash which was the meal on our menu plan. I even managed to make a second one that is now sitting in the freezer for another day :j
Productive day today in terms of decluttering. 2 boxes and 2 large bags in the car ready to go to the charity shop in the morning :T It's amazing what you realise you have that you either don't like or don't use.
Just spent a lovely 30 minutes cuddled up on the sofa with the dogs just relaxing so that is my 15 minutes me time for today.

Quick check in from me, was interested to read comments on ways of dividing bills etc earlier, but now internet playing up so can't scroll back to see who said what! NSD for me (no 3), had a mega sort out of my office at work, found lots of useful things (pack of disp contact lenses, painkillers, etc). Grateful for lovely colleagues, DM who babysat so I could stay late, and time snuggled up chilling and talking about future plans with DD. Also had noodles and lots of veggies leftover from yest for lunch, but then just cheese on toast and a apple for tea! Night turtles, keep paddling x0

fmess I am on your side here. Keep the payments even till you paid off the debt especially since a lot of it is "joint" debt and he benefited from it when he wasn't earning. I would hope my oh would see it that way. I'm paying more atm than oh because I want to enable oh to get out of his OD which is actually just his, but clearing his debt would benefit us as a couple. Hope your oh sees that logic.
Also ask him why. Would he want more available spend money or would he want to start and emergency buffer sooner?DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Evening.
Had a great day today. Spent with my wonderful family. I did my daughterly duty and stayed sober so I could be the designated driver.
Spendy day (sorry) as had lunch. Tried to be very good. Had soup and a sandwich, a pudding and a coke.. however we split the whole bill by 11 of us which meant it didn't save me anything. Meal cost me £35!!
Will be a spendy day tomorrow too as OH is moaning about the lack of food in the house.
Hopefully boiler will get fixed tomorrow. Really excited about this. If not then I am moving up to my parent's house (they are heading away for a few days). Damed if I am staying any longer in this freezing cold house. OH may or may not come with me, he isn't sure. Judging by the past few days, his xbox is more important than heat.
*rolls eyes*
We are just starting out in the world of "semi-joint" finances. OH turns out to be only slightly better at finances than me but that is only cause he is so tight-fisted (can't think of the right word in english). Otherwise, he would be in debt too.
I used to pay everything and he paid a small contribution as I thought he was saving for his flying debts... but he wasn't. So now that flying is off the cards and he is sticking with his IT job, he will have to pay his way equally.
I am feeling pretty dam good about this to be honest. I am hoping that I will be able to pay off my debts quicker.
Hope everyone is doing okay.
Hugs.
P.S: 15 minutes was a whole day watching my dad have a great time. He deserves all the happiness in the world.

Had a better day today. Walked the dog, did some tidying and dusting, dish washer and 1 load of washing. Had a small spend today of £7.33 for worming tablets from the vets for the dog. Made a lovely cauliflower pasta bake with mushrooms and onion to bulk it out/add flavour. Enough for 3 of us twice, and 3-4 freezer portions and all YS apart from sauce-99p at Alditty- quite pleased with myself. Also made flapjacks from store cupboard items and had my 7 veg/fruit quota. Out for lunch tomorrow with friends from pain management group I went to this time last year. We all became friends and meet once a week, the first half hour we help and encourage one another, discuss what works etc then have an hour and half fun time. It works for us as we can open up if not feeling well or support others that don't, then have a good laugh and put the world to rights. Hoping to get to aquarobics tomorrow if my pass arrives in the post. Wishing everyone well.

Morning all
Interesting conversation re: accounts with OH and splitting expenses. Mine was a rather complex situation looking back but he never paid for anything and was always swanning around buying new clothes, eating my sons baby food, not paying for nappies or bills. He even saved up and went off to India for 4 months! ...and when we split he left me in debt with utility companies. I was very blinded back then but we were young... but one does live and learn!!
I did have another encounter a few years back where I think I was taken advantage of at time. I think if I was to get into a serious relationship again, it would be joint account for bills/mortgage, holidays etc. Then own account for personal spends. I know my friend and her ex set limits on 'pocket money' say £50 for month...
Had to attend an occ health review yesterday, hopefully the situation will be resolved soon, they were very supportive.
Cancelled yoga in favour of stopping in to see my parents on the way home for my 15+ minutes, had a glass of wine and a sandwich...another SFD for me!
My lodger is away until Monday so told me to eat anything left at the bottom of the fridge, had an edamame bean salad to which I added a tin of tuna! I think it's carrots left now so i'm going to make a carrot & lentil loaf which I will share with her next week! Friend coming for lunch today so it's HM falafels, pitta, salad and yoghurt dressing. Picked up the pitta in yellow label section only to find when going through receipt yesterday that I was charged full price
Made a few craft items yesterday, one experiment and one which has turned out lovely! I've even opened and Etsee shop with the intention of filling it one day!! :j#4 DFBXMAS24 - £2,322.85/£5,000
