    Hi,

Does anyone have any info or can update me on the test case? As far as I was aware, there was to be a decision (possibly interim) to be made around this time.
  • Am I missing something here?

The whols subject seems to have disappeared from the media ... nothing has been on the news, in the papers or on the primary websites about the current progress of the test case. Perhaps, I'm just missing something.

I know that the start was delayed due to other commitments of the judge presiding over it, but that's all that I have heard.

Could someone advise as to where I can find the latest goings on as I am presently stuck with the "stay until 28 days after the verdict", which I assume is to give the banks the opportunity to appeal against the verdict and delay things EVEN further.

    Many thanks.
We missed out on the reclaim of nearly £5000 bank charges from HSBC, but picked up over £10000 in PPI claims against them instead. I am now debt free and working to help my other half clear hers

It is expected to take until July at the earliest and then there could be appeals.

As above for an expected judgement.

The latest update from the OFT was on March 11:

They estimate the judgement to be made at the end of July but that's only a guess. The Judge made it very clear that upon judgement and regardless of any appeals, it is quite conceivable that most stays could be lifted within a month of his judgement.
  • I think the banks will as well, appeal any such lift while the appeals process is going through depending on which way the decision goes. That is a thought, what if the Banks WIN the case and the judge lifts the stays. The OFT appeal so would there be a case for claimants in this hypothetical decision to apply for a stay until the final decision is made?
    Just a thought.
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009

Yeah - Heard a rumour that the Banks were feeling pretty 'chipper'
  • I have had an offer from my bank in regards to bank charges, but this is half of what i was expecting so i declined it.

Could i now go back to my bank and accept the first offer or not

    Regards
