• The judge yesterday said that charges weren't penalties under 'common law'. Therefore as business bank charges are not protected under the UTCCR, does this mean and end for business bank charges.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

“The judge also found that the charges weren't penalties under 'common law'. Don't panic about that. It doesn't mean that the charges aren't excessive or otherwise unlawful under the UTCCR, which has always been the strongest argument and is separate to common law.”
• Bank charges sound like another form of natural selection to me.
