Old Man's Family Refusing To Pay For His Funeral

Well I have been barred from this particular pub now because I refused to contribute towards anything.
This is sounding more bizarre every time you post.
I find it really hard to believe that somebody would ring up a customer and ask them to contribute £200 towards somebody's funeral (a customer who doesn't even know the deceased) when there are surviving family and even harder to believe that a landlord would bar somebody for not contributing to a funeral.
So - has the landlord barred all your quiz group friends too?Well im not giving anything and neither is anyone on the quiz as im told they think its unfair as well.
My Dad's funeral cost around £3000 so at that rate, assuming they were asking everybody for £200, it would mean there are only 15 regular customers - or 14 if you count the landlord.
Bit of a silly move by the landlord to bar customers for refusing to contribute to the funeral of someone they don't know if he doesn't have that large a clientele.
If any of this is actually true.

Not that long ago having a "paupers" funeral was seen as the worst possible disgrace for a person/family - people joined funeral clubs to avoid it.
Nowadays I suppose they are known as "Over 50" plans that get sold on daytime TV !0 -

Don't touch those - buy a proper funeral plan where you pay for the funeral rather than commit yourself to paying a set amount a month for the rest of your life.0 -
Yes its all true. Six others have been told they are no longer welcome too. No worries there are better quiz nights in nicer places to go to. When I asked why I was banned he said I was a tight cold !!!!!.Britain is great but Manchester is greater0
