A good car for a short woman ?

I'd say it was also obvious from the OP that she was looking for small car recommendations due to personal preference, and not a lecture on your wifes driving history0

Another recommendation for a Toyota Yaris here. My wife is 5'1" and found it much better in terms of comfort and visibility than the other cars she's driven in the last few years (a Fiesta, a Focus and my rather gratuitously large Volve S80). In fact she's just insisted that we get another one. Also reliable and reasonably nippy.0

LOL there is always one. Also he writes on behalf of his wife, would she have boasted like this? Used to hate that on a bikers forum where men discussed their partner's abilities etc, let's hear from them ourselves I always used to think. Anyway... interesting to see that this behaviour also applies to the car drivers.0 -

Maybe there are cars out there that she couldn't drive because she couldn't get comfortable, but she's not been confronted with one yet. She gets in, adjusts the seats, and drives; big or small, petrol or diesel, auto or manual, towing or solo - she just gets on with it.
Its not obvious at all..... if there is a car where the steering wheel cannot be adjusted, where the seat isnt height adjustable and the pedals are too far away to comfortably reach being a shortie, how does sticking a trailer on the back make any difference?
The question of comfort in driving is about driving position and nothing to do with the size of the vehicle or what may be attached to it. Arguably smaller cars are the ones that more often have very basic models with much less adjustability and its these cars the Mrs has found uncomfortable. The biggest cars she's driven are all luxury vehicles and they've been fully adjustable and so no issues.0 -
I'm 5'2" (with short legs ) and haven't had a problem with the following cars I've previously driven on a regular basis: vauxhall corsa, fiat punto, renault clio and I currently drive both a honda civic (2006) and VW polo (2008) regularly enough without a problem. As long as everything is easily adjusted it doesn't make a lot of difference to me. My husband is 6'6" and has more trouble than I do finding a car that he can fit in comfortably.0

As long as you choose a car with a seat that adjusts up and down as well as back and forward and a steering wheel you can adjust too, I don't think you need to worry. Do they make modern cars that don't do those things?
I'm 5'4" but I have stumpy little legs and a long body so I always have to have my seat a long way forward and the seat reclined quite a long way like a boy racer out cruisingI drive a VW Golf now (Mk 5 and previous was a Mk 4) and find that very comfortable - no prob reaching the pedals! I've also driven Fiestas and a Saxo (teenage years!) and a Ford Galaxy - all have been comfortable when adjusted properly. It's really not about the size of the car.

Where's the lecture? I was suggesting to the OP a number of vehicles that I can, on personal experience, confidently say a short lady can drive.
I'd be interested to know how you picked up on the OP wanting 'small car recommendations', as nowhere did she state a preference for size of vehicle, merely that she, as a person of short stature, would be able to drive it.LOL there is always one. What boasting? I'm again, simply pointing out that a short lady needn't limit themselves to a particular type or make/model of vehicle. In fact they can drive whatever they like. Please do point out where I boasted that 'my wife's better than your wife' etc.0 -

The whole thread made me chuckle apart from your posts, little car for the little woman syndrome at work, my mother is a short !!!! and has driven everything from 7 series to 7.5 tonne trucks and on one occasion a sherman tank :rotfl: so I recommend a Sherman tank, very poor MPG but parking isn never going to be an issue.0
