You're wrong but hell what do i know its not as if i do this kinda thing for a living.

I should add api is in place with the creation of e borders but this is not the norm for the vast majority of ports and airports in the uk

If you really think I'm going to blindly take the word of a random internet user making vague claims about "doing this kinda thing for a living" over that of the government (https://www.gov.uk/uk-border-control/before-you-leave-for-the-uk) and every single airline insisting on you providing API information (why on Earth would they all do so voluntarily?), then you have another thing coming...

That's not to necessarily say I'm definitely right, I've certainly been wrong before, but I don't currently see it.

You do realise that the information on that link doesn't relate to British citizens don't you?

You are of course quite right no one should trust posters on forums but if you care to look back over my history on here I would have serious issues if I had built up this many posts pretending to be something I'm not.

If the link you provided was relevant to this case how would anyone enter the uk without the appropriate documentation? As you were suggesting the op should do because when they leave to come back to the uk the travel provider would realise they didn't have a document not let them board and they would have to go and obtain an emergency travel doc to get back to the uk.

"You’re from an EEA country or Switzerland
You can enter the UK with either a valid passport or a national identity card issued by a EEA country. It must be valid for the whole of your stay"

Slight issue there my passport only has 4 years left on it so does that mean I'm not allowed to live here for longer than 4 years?

I'm aware it's not designed for British citizens, but I see no reason why it wouldn't apply to them. We were in the EEA last time I checked - nor do I see a reason why API would apply to everyone else but not British citizens.

I wouldn't care to look over your history, no.

I didn't suggest the OP do any such thing. Since when did P&O do passport checks? I've never had mine checked by them.

So I take it your flippant remark means that you ARE claiming that API is only for non-British citizens? Prove it then, that makes no sense.

I'll disagree with anything you say that I don't believe is true and you'll refuse to back up - yes. Your pathetic, childish response in the other thread shows you're capable of finding sources to back yourself up - any reason why you're refusing to do so now?

My daughter went to Paris on Eurostar in a group of 12 girls, she had forgotten her pp. the girls collected all their pp's together and handed all to the officer on the train. He shuffled through and looked at a couple but didn't count them. They did the same coming back.
Not recommending this, but it's possible.

She was lucky. As it is they don't check on the train but the passports are checked twice within a few yards of each other at St Pancras and Gare du Nord, once by the british immigration and once by the french. My experience is they check each one pretty carefully to make sure they have the right number

Also, for future reference and could help later on, I was born in Germany (to British parents and of course live in the UK)...could I possibly get a German passport too? It may help if I lose my passport again

If your parents were working on the German economy then is may be possible as your birth would have had to be registered in Germany.

If your parents were with the armed forces then no - all births are deemed to be on Sovereign Soil and registered within the UK only.

The question is actually about German nationality (a passport is simply a document that provides evidence of your nationality): the German embassy in the UK will undoubtedly let you know whether you can claim German citizenship. If so, you could easily obtain a German identity card (all that you need to travel in the EU) and passport: but that is something to explore once you have found you qualify for German nationality.
