I'm typing this on a Mac right now, and shortly I'll be off to work where I use a Windows 7 laptop with a couple of Linux VMs on it which I used to manage Linux and Windows servers in AWS. I'll probably check my mail on my (work-provided) iPhone 6 just before I head out.

My tech life is pretty good, but thanks for your empathy.:)

Probably, but it failed. It said it had detected that I was running an old version of windows, would I like to upgrade? I hadn't applied any updates since last summer and said yes. It then tried to update as if I was upgrading rather than updating. It didn't do any harm but it was annoying (gave me the option to postpone but then did it anyway when I wasn't looking!) Afterwards, when I updated the usual way, it applied over 90 updates.

I've got 8.1 Pro so was thinking of upgrading to 7 but will now wait to see what 10's like. 8.1 seems painfully slow!

I'm happy you are happy. The empathy is free, so no problem..:D

To be fair, I quite like W8.1 I'm still evaluating W10, however, my next machine may be a Mac as I've not used one before and have a curiosity itch to scratch. The only reason I moved on from the iPhone was boredom, so, I'm not anti Apple, although they are a tad overpriced.
