Hi I have read through the pages but just a quick question.
I see the self assessment deadline is Jan 31st. have a full time job but have completed about 30 mystery shopping tasks which I started in July 2015. I have kept a tally of everything and probably owe about £30 in tax. Do I need to complete the self assessment which I understand is ridiculously close?! Thanks
If your dates are right, then you shouldn't have to complete a self-assessment for your mystery shopping. There are other reasons why people get one. Current self assessments are for 14/15 tax year.
You need to register with HMRC as self employed. They then send you a letter or possibly email to let you know they want you to submit a S/A. Letter comes in April, with various deadlines, 31st of Jan being final one to avoid a penalty.0 -
I did my tax return and got an email to say it had gone through successfully. I then got an email and text which I hope were generic saying I still had time to complete my tax form. I rang up and they said it was fine but it is still quite stressful. The first person's computer was down. great. and he couldn't put me through so had to ring up again.
I have printed out the email just in case.0 -
Anyone doing the train jobs on MF? The fee looks rather good, but assuming they are a bit of a faff?
I've done a lot of them over the last few years. They seem to have expanded how many they do in a wave now but the basics remain the same. It might read like it's a bit daunting but its entry station, platform, train staff and exit staff which is only a little more than your average restaurant if you count bar and waiting staff.
The questions are very simple its just recalling everyone's name and description. The fee for what you actually need to do coupled with a flexible return time actually make these a very worthwhile visit IMO. Grab one if you can but be sure to check the time and if 1st or standard otherwise it could be a very costly mistake.0 -
The thing that puts me off about the trains is the parking costs. I think it is great if you can walk there or live nearby. Otherwise it would mean the cost of driving/petrol or a train fare to get there.0

Anyone having trouble logging in to RA?
It is saying I need to put in my username not my email address. Where on earth is my username? I can't see it on any emails or remittance advice
Cheers0 -

There was an email newsletter earlier in the week which said they were upgrading the site. I'm presuming this is why its totally borked now.0

I have to travel to London lots for work so the cost of my normal train fare balanced against a cab ride to the station for a free journey and the fee really make it a no brainer for me. If you are just looking for the fee and the travel is of no use to you then yeah maybe not the best job to select, works well for me so I love them.0 -

I found that when I tried to log on using the bookmark saved in my 'favourites', I was unable to log on using my normal details.
However, after much faffing- about, I found a solution: Use Google to find the Retail Active home page, then click on the link "Shooper Login" in the top right-hand corner. Then my normal details worked okay!
Hope this helps
Best wishes
