anyone done gfk bank check? they don't make the questionnaire simple do they?0

Tax year is until 5th April.
Always a bit confused as to what you do about work carried out in March but paid after April 5th? Not yet been an issue but could in the 2015-16 return.0 -
I take on jobs that don't cover the cost -the way I see it is hubs and I would have been going out for dinner anyway, so not have to pay for some of it is still a bonus. We get to try new places and a few of them have gone back to as 'real' customers.
Getting paid a ridiculous fee tonight for a meal - the fee alone is £20! so happy to take some little ones if I get one like this every so often.0 -

That's GFK for you they could make a 15 page document, 4 page contradictory cover sheet, and a questionaire that makes you lose the will to live out of telling you to put the kettle on.
Trust me, I've been working for GFK alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll day, I decided not to do an extra visit on the way home, not because it's a hard job, just that I can't face writing that many up in one goYes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?0 -
So the online tax return deadline is due in on 31st Jan. Which dates does this cover in terms of shops and the tax owed from them. I assume it's a financial year? So would that be April 14 to March 15?
Yes tax year 14/15. You're cutting that fine aren't you?
I spent more of the weekend than I would have liked doing my tax return and paid my tax by debit card. It finally left my account today - and I thought I was living dangerously!0 -

Relax - you have almost a year before you need worry about that!
There's a question on the self assessment which says something like "are you completing this on a cash receipt basis?"
My understanding is that that means actual money in and out for the year. I tick that box and only give money I have actually received.
The more complicated traditional method, used by business' where their affairs are more complicated than my modest mystery shopping earnings, has to cover money invoiced but not yet received.0 -
Anyone doing the train jobs on MF? The fee looks rather good, but assuming they are a bit of a faff?0

You need to decide on what basis you run your accounts, when you do the job (that's that way I choose) or when you get paid. As we are dealing in relativity small amounts with very few bad debts I would go for declaring the income when you did the job.0 -
MF and React money showing in the bank for tomorrow.0

Hi I have read through the pages but just a quick question.
I see the self assessment deadline is Jan 31st. have a full time job but have completed about 30 mystery shopping tasks which I started in July 2015. I have kept a tally of everything and probably owe about £30 in tax. Do I need to complete the self assessment which I understand is ridiculously close?! Thanks0
