    Is it just me or....

Is all the merchandising work that's about currently with companies who couldn't run a bath let alone a project?

Case in point is one company who's work is getting more and more urgent, but they don't actually seem to be reading emails or allocating the work.

No, it's not just you. I've given up on some jobs because even getting the thing allocated properly was major exercise.

I thought it was just me who was being ignored....ah well, can't have been that urgent lol ;)

Agree - I held off doing the expensive train tickets as could be waiting six weeks to be paid. A couple of years ago they used to pay the tickets fairly quickly. Now I note they include them in the normal pay run. You seem to need a big float for the reimbursements and slow payment of fees. GfK seem to be having their problems with delayed payments which is unusual for them.

I think you have to work out with these jobs if they are worth your while and decide if you want to opt in - I chose not too:o

  • I still haven't completed a tax return for last year. If I start to do it online say this week can I save it if I can't finish in one go.

2 main queries, is there anyway of representing a reimbursement or is it profit or nothing

if I completed jobs in the vicinity of my work place could I claim mileage?

Thanks, really nervous about this whole thing and busy with work commitments.
  • Is anyone in their right mind going to accept these recorded loan enquiry assignments where they visit you in your own home? If they upped the fee to ten times the amount they're offering I still wouldn't do it. Have they completely lost the plot on this one??,

I thought that about those loan assigments in your own home. Complete P take for the fee involved. Agree would need to be ten times the fee as these types of reps will be difficult to get rid off and the follow up calls they make, will be hard to shake off

    Yes.

Income on one side of the calculation, this includes anything you get paid including reimbursables and fees, outgoings on the other side including what you spend on a job and anything else.

For the extra mileage yes, for the full journey to and from work, no.

Speak to your local tax office and ask when the next course is for the self employed, you'll learn way more than we can tell you here, get some advice on your own circumstances and come away with some peace of mind, its all free too.
  • One more thing, can you be discerning about the reimbursements. I have been told from several sources not to worry about them and just put the fees down. If I only get a a reimbursement for the job then I will put it down presumably.

In one job I get reimbursed for stuff I need to do the job so it is like an expense so how is that represented?

    thanks
  • Wow £20 Bonus!
    Dear Mystery Shopper
We have a job in Spalding and another in Chesterfield. We can give you a £20 bonus on top of the paltry fee if you can do both.

    Dear AA
The return journey is 160 miles with a 4 hour travelling time - go figure why your jobs hang around on the board

    Best wishes Terri

I live in one of those locations, but if it's AA, I wouldn't touch it with someone else's barge pole.
Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
