That's ok. I truely believe that a little treat every now and then makes it all worth while. Have you not thought about getting a cheap tin of white paint and then running it through the house?

It's not the end product, but would make everything look tidied. I've been trying to get some friends to do this (they've been in 18 months and haven't finished upstairs yet and not even started downstairs!)

Well that kinda is the plan. The problem being most of the walls need papering first - they are very uneven and neither of us are good enough at plastering to be able to re plaster all the walls.

Plus upstairs in the bathroom and on the landing we put false ceilings in using panels. These now need to appear joined before we can paint em....it's a long drawn out process.

Still, its coming together VERY VERY SLOWLY! And at least we have a plan now and know what we need to do in each room. We figure as long as the living room and study are done ASAP, then we can survive just doing bits to the rest over the next year while studying (assuming that time will be very short)!

That sounds like a very good idea. I have very uneven walls in my bedroom and we used some textured wall paper which has masked most of it.

Last night we saved money on tea - free fresh sea trout (OH mate went v early morning fishing), which was yum. With spinach, new potatoes, and honey and onion stuffing (all of which we already had)! Yey!

Took the rat to the vets too, and the check up was free....yey! So not a bad end to the day really. Although OH got back really late from work and had had a rotten day (bit of work place bullying going on) so we left the back room. So I have no ebay/amazon stuff yet!

Hopefully have a look at it tonight instead!

Today, I don't intend to go anywhere other than collecting a parcel and I can walk there so that's all free. Woo hoo!

However, was just reading all the mortgage stuff on here and I just realised that I don't know anything about our mortgage. Ok so it's in OH's name, and we couldn't change this year anyway since we are both going back to uni, but it'd be nice to know whats happening.

So I think todays tasks are:
    1) Collect parcel.
    2) Understand our mortgage and terms off.
    3) Find OH either an ISA or regular saver account.
    4) Clean using new mop and cleaning products I bought yesterday!

    OOOh what fun! Lol.

Pleased to hear the rat is ok. I lost a fish this morning, so have the delights of cleaning the tank out tonight!

I'm not into fish, but dinner sounds nice.

Have you looked at pigsback? If not let me know and I'll fill you in.

Yeah I use Quidco and registered on Pigsback the other day...not really sure what to do with it to be honest so I should really have a look at it.

Oh and sorry to hear about the fish. Hope the tank isn't too difficult to clean, we used to have a MASSIVE one when I was younger and it was a bit of a nightmare.

It's not that bad, just time consuming. It's not been looking good for a while so I'm not that surprised really.

    Hiya twiklie :hello:

Saw your post on MFiT thread so I'd thought I'd come and say hello!
Have you thought about signing up to freecycle for bits for your house? Its a bit of pot luck as to what gets put on there in your local area but it might help. There's been carpets, tables, shelves and lamps and paint on mine in the last few days! Even if its in the short term - you can always put furniture or whatever back onto freecycle when you can afford to replace it?

    Good luck!

This is going to sound really stupid. I am signed up to my local freecycle, but I haven't checked it in...erm...a long time.

And being that I truely am having a blonde day, the idea of actually posting my own stuff on there didn't occur. It's a crime as well, we just emptied my grandmas house and there was so much stuff that would have come in useful for people.

Awwww....feeling a bit bad about that. I hate being wasteful. Grrr....

On the plus side, I picked up the new modem/router thingy for our new broadband....exciting. Nearly time to say bye bye to BT!
