I don't think so, he's mentioned insurance.0 -
I would get the garage to deliver it as part of the purchase.
Do some research on "Insurance fronting" to make sure you stay on the right side of the law.0 -
Isn't there a grace period for tax? Surely you can't be expected to tax a vehicle at the point you buy it before you drive it away?
So assuming it has MOT and insurance i'd have thought it would be okay.
Don't see the point in buying it before passing though if all you're gonna do is sorn it. Sounds like you're getting a bit exited and trying to run before you can walk. There's a risk by time you pass the MOT is due leaving you with big bills potentially before you even bed your ar5e in to the seat.0 -

As above there was a grace period for displaying the disc when you taxed it online before the old one expired. Just to give you some leeway for any delay in the post.
But if its not taxed it shouldnt be on the road.
I wonder if all car sales places have trade plates though? If not does that mean customers cannot test drive the cars?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

I wonder how many people buy tax at the dealership or when they are stood at the front door of a private sellers house. Surely it cannot be the case that the second you jump in the car you are at risk of having it seized0

Every one I've bought at a dealer has been taxed before I left.
Why can it not be the case?0
