Well he's got his tail between his legs this morning!
Generally he us on board and is aware that the budgets are tight now I'm on 2 days. He told me thus morning he was bogged down with it all and just wanted to buy a few books and things (mainly they will help him with his work, but that's not an excuse!) I think he's realised after last night that its not a case of I wont let him buy things or have fun, just that we need to save and budget for them and at least discuss them so i can make sure there's money there for the actual bill side of things.
He's currently listing a few of his old books on ebay and sold a box of stuff to magpie of his last night so think his lesson has been learnt. He did say he was sorry that I've had to spend my saved holiday money on the bills because he's been stupid. Its a step in the right direction so we shall see if it continuesJanuary 2015 - LBM

I once had a hairdresser point blank refuse to do what I wanted with my hair. It was down my back and dark brunette (natural) and I wanted it dying blonde. She wouldn't!! Lol.

My childhood hairdresser is used to me, but I can't justify driving 90 odd miles for her to sort my hairShe would quite regularly ring us up and tell me I had an appointment for the following weekend etc (even though i hadn't booked it) becuase she had a new funky hair colour that had come in and she wanted to test it:rotfl:
School were never impressed on a Monday, apart from one teacher who was always rather disappointed if my hair was the same colour it had been on Friday.
I have found out that I have to attend a family function in July, It's to celebrate to something wedding anniversary of my sister. Who I barely speak to in any case. I don't want to go but then on the other hand I do. Not to cause trouble as one might expect, but by being there I will acutally probably cause more drama than by not going. If I don't go it will be 'she didn't make the effort blah blah' but if I go, it'll probably be I don't know why she came blah blah, probably going to cause trouble blah blah.
Without going into detail I speak to my mum and my dad and his wife, most other family members I avoid, big family falling out.
I'm wondering what colour I should try for the family gathering in July? Any thoughts, has to be a bit whacky, maybe i should go for a rainbow, that might get me suitable scolded and removed from the family photos (not that they need an excuse) I'm normally the crazy one dressed in something inappropriate for 'their' venue and function sat in the corner out of the way, until they need to come and show off 'their' delightful little grandson/nephew/great grandson. I might get a mention then!!!:mad:January 2015 - LBM

Unexpected afternoon off, dude had s temp of 39.3 so was sent him from nursery.
On that note can anyone recommend a really good ear thermometer? The one I have is showing very random temps!!
So spent the afternoon snuggled on the sofa with dude. His temp went down with Calpol but keeps rising again when it wears off. Not sure what's up but somethings not right. I was hoping it was just his teeth bothering him but think it may be more now.
Nursery have had cases of a bad round of chickenpox (dude got them from nursery just before his first birthday) and scarlet fever. I'm hoping he doesn't get this!
Bah hate having an ill baby. Seems a lot of us/our little folk have been ill recently and i hope it goes away chuffing quick!!January 2015 - LBM

Hey HM - so sorry to hear about dude. Frightens the life out of me. That was Jelly's exact temp when she was poorly and she was sick everytime I gave her calpol so I couldn't get it down. The doctor was just really blas! "oh it can sometimes cause febrile convulsions in children but its ok' - no.. it isn't!!
As for the thermometer, Jelly screams so much whenever I put ours near her ear and fights so hard I can't keep her still for the required time usually. I have got a Lloyds Pharmacy one which is pretty accurate (my reading was the same as the doctors when we went to them!) and has 2 end pieces that can do either forehead (less accurate) or ear so I tend to do the 2 and see how I get on.
Hope you manage a decent night.. and dude is better in the morning!! xx

My day I not going well, I want to cry!
Dude still not well, I tried to go to work with him and failed miserably. Ended up coming home at lunch and he was ill, all over me!! He has been such a grump all afternoon. He doesn't know what he wants. He wants a drink, then doesn't. Wants food then doesn't. Wants to be picked up then put down, cuddles no cuddles.
To top it all off the neighbours just come round 'have you lost your cat cos we've found one' *heart sinks* he didn't come home this morning, cue neighbour 'oh god no sorry he's in our shed!'
I.nearly cried on the spot, not sure I could have handled anything bad with the kitty today. He can be a pain in the backside but i lobe that ball of fluff! I always wanted an indoor cat but he wouldn't have that, so goes out at night. For his first few months I sat awake at night listening out for him incase he wanted to come in/got in a fight/needed me. They say kids give you all the worry, its not true kitties do too!!!January 2015 - LBM

Sorry to hear about the crappy day.. I'm sure Dude will be back to his normal self pretty soon, you both just have to ride it out meanwhile which I know is tough!:heart2:
I know exactly what you mean about the kitty... when we first got ours and for at least a year (who recently just died of lymphoma:() I would spend half the night lying awake waiting to hear him come back in the cat flap and if I didn't hear him I'd be convinced he'd been run over, thrown in a bin.. got lost.. you name it..completely neurotic about him I was)!
Get well soon Dude and chin up you:)x- on a mission to be debt-free by the end of 2017 -

We cant have a cat flap, I'm far too paranoid that large men in black masks will climb in and murder us in our sleep!( I watch far too much crime and horror tv)
Poor kitty was shot at with a bb gun while I was in hospital the weekend dude was born so I'm even more worried about kitty.
Dude has had a little visit from gramps and a slice of toast so here's hoping that stays out. His temp is still up and down though so will have to ride it out like you say.
How ate you and LL doing Levi? Hope you guys are better.January 2015 - LBM

Oh no!! Heartbreaking. I hope dude has settled well tonight and gives you some rest. Really exhausting when they are poorly, so try to remember to take some time for you!!
As for kitty, so happy it is a good ending to that one. I had an indoor cat and that was a real relief. I hear them fighting outside all of the time.. and when she was in heat when she was a baby.. man, they just queued up outside, 3 stories down! I dared not even open the window a smidgen as she would have jumped!!
And.. a BB gun?! !!!!!!!
Hope dudes temp stays down, and you manage some peace and he feels much better in the morning. the absolute joys of nursery schoolxx

Yes Lilt, a BB gun. I went in hospital to have dude and had to stay in a couple of days over the weekend. OH was back and forth between home and hospital and was feeding kitty etc.
I came home late on the Sunday night and Monday noticed he had a small circle mark on his chest, I though he'd caught himself on something while out. Then later that night he seemed to have a real sore patch underneath.
By the time the next morning had arrived he'd got an abcess and I took him straight to vet and it burst while we were there! I was in floods of tears in the waiting room, dude in one arm, cat box next to me and my mum looking a bit lost.
The vet took one look and said you live in so so area don't you, me ermmm yes, he's been shot with a BB gun, had a lot of cases in the last week from that area. I was horrified and felt guilty for not noticing anything sooner. A few hundred quid went down to the vet (luckily insured so got it back). I'm like hawk eye round here now and would quite happily shoot anybody I find with a BB gun square in the nether regions!!
Anyway, dude is asleep on the sofa and I'm obviously being productive and checking out whats going on here haha:rotfl:January 2015 - LBM
