Burn baby burn!!!
Does the remote start work if the car is parked on a public road?
I seem to remember that leaving an unattended vehicle with the engine running is some kind of offence or it may just be a Highway Code thing.0 -

You need a garage or drive to have a hybrid. You need somewhere to plug it in.
So this is unlikely to ever be a problem.
It's only outside your house you would ever want to run it without being in it.0 -

What are you getting as an average combined?
If it's no lower than 30 MPG I can live with that.0 -

Some commuter car parks actually fill up. The one I would need to use on my long journey is a fair walk from the office.
Plus there is no guarantee of getting a space after charging as there is a risk they'll all be gone.
I need to go & look in that car park.0 -

au contraire you can do this anywhere, public or not. The heating is electric from the battery, the petrol engine doesn't start. No one would know apart from the quiet hum of the air blower if your close enough and the ice sliding off the windscreen.
Doesn't need to be on the drive or plugged in even. You can also set a timer so it automatically warms up at say 7.45am ready for your departure at 80 -

Well it had 41 on it when I picked it up, I soon spoilt thatI will let you know when I have had it a few days.
No doubt when the novelty wears off it will drastically improve. At the moment its amusing me to flash the headlights from my phone when someone walks past it.0 -

Not strictly so even a drive will do without a garage, the fixed chargers you can get installed free are weatherproof so can be mounted on the outside wall and wired in.
Even if its parked on the road doing its pre-heating it is still locked and cannot be driven even if broken in - only the heating circuit is active.0
