No. I just correct people posting incorrect information.I just rightfully and politely corrected you. The continuation was an argument with MillicentBystander, not with you. It seems you want to argue with everyone.
Now you started misquoting me. I've never said that you had done no research. What I said that capping wasn't a part of this research. If it were, you wouldn't have suggested everyone simply to call the provider and set a limit. You started the war. This is another incorrect statement. I refer to your repeated accusations that I had done no research and I was merely "lucky" in my choice of provider.
No, you have not answered them before. And I didn't ask anything about "other posters". What you are saying now clearly contradicts your first post in this thread.I am still waiting for simple answers to my simple questions, especially the second one. I have answered your questions. To clarify once again, I did my research as did several other posters on this thread.
 ...
Did you know this when posting your advice to "Set a limit with your service provider"? Yes
Yes, I posted one incorrect figure - "2" instead of "3" and, unlike you, I stood corrected. It wasn't an assumption and made no difference to the point I made - unlike in your case."Incorrect" isn't a synonym of "assumption". Don't be facetious. Your comments were "incorrect" AND based on your glib "assumptions"
Any facts for T-Mobile (proving that they do offer capping)? And any facts for T-Mobile?Talkmobile, TalkTalk Mobile, Virgin Mobile, TPO. As I have said: I know of four who provide this service and four who do not. T Mobile, Tesco, Utility Warehouse and Three / O2, Vodafone, EE and Orange respectively.
It obviously was as it has "version history" on the same page with the last record "19th January 2015 – added Lebara SMS bundles.":DNo, I CBA as there are many ready available lists, e.g. http://mobilenetworkcomparison.org.uk/compare/ What relevance does this list have? Do you know who has compiled this data? Is it reliable? Has it been revised since it was posted in 2011?
Relavance? You asked - I answered.
Who compiled and how reliable? I leave it to you to prove that my ~40 figure (or ~3 dozens) was grossly wrong. I have never posted the exact figure.
I don't have any difficulties. And I did clarify later that at least 7 out of ~40 offered contracts as capping was relevant for contracts only. Do you have difficulty reading? There is a clue in the web address Compare PAYG mobile networks and it clearly states "We reckon we’ve got all the information for every single UK PAYG network"
 In summary:
There are at least 4 mobile phone monthly contract service providers who currently or in the past have offered a capping service.
There are not "2 - 3 dozen" mobile phone monthly contract service providers in the UK.
I have posted "at least 7" before anyone even questioned this. In fact it's at least 8, and 3 out of 8.

I supposedly have a buffer on Three too, but it doesn't appear anywhere that I can see when I log into my account. I have also read that bizarrely many providers seem incapable of limiting the use of a roaming contract phone until several hours have passed, yet they won't let a PAYG run one penny over it's credit amount.I have a £30 buffer on three - I know it works as it caught me out when abroad dealing with an emergency.0

The govt promised a £50 cap on liability when a phone is stolen, similar to credit cards etc, it was supposed to have been implemented last year but hasn't been yet...

Not really that bizarre.Frozen_up_north wrote: »I have also read that bizarrely many providers seem incapable of limiting the use of a roaming contract phone until several hours have passed, yet they won't let a PAYG run one penny over it's credit amount.
When roaming, they rely on charges being passed from 'foreign' service providers.
Understandably, this may take a little while.0

Rubbish. These are communications companies, there's no excuse not to do it in real time. How do you think PAYG works? They don't let you talk for "several hours" when the network's money is at stake. Not really that bizarre.

Says it all >No. I just correct people posting incorrect information. LOL, it is you who have posted incorrect information on this thread.
Now you started misquoting me. I've never said that you had done no research. What I said that capping wasn't a part of this research. If it were, you wouldn't have suggested everyone simply to call the provider and set a limit. You certainly did, said I was "lucky" on more than one post.
No, you have not answered them before. And I didn't ask anything about "other posters". What you are saying now clearly contradicts your first post in this thread. Yes I did as did others and no it does not.
Yes, I posted one incorrect figure - "2" instead of "3" and, unlike you, I stood corrected. It wasn't an assumption and made no difference to the point I made - unlike in your case. Wrong. First you said it was only Tesco, then you said 2 and then 3. In fact it is at least four .
Any facts for T-Mobile (proving that they do offer capping)? I have already posted the link.
It obviously was as it has "version history" on the same page with the last record "19th January 2015 – added Lebara SMS bundles.":D
Relavance? You asked - I answered. Wrong again, the link you posted is for PAYG mobile service providers.
Who compiled and how reliable? I leave it to you to prove that my ~40 figure (or ~3 dozens) was grossly wrong. I have never posted the exact figure. Wrong again, first you said 2-3 dozen. Then you said ~40 and posted a link to a comparison site for PAYG service providers. ALL of the 40+ contracts listed in your link have a maximum cap, i.e. how much credit has been credited to the phone. If you can't substantiate your wild claims, admit your figures are total BS.
 I don't have any difficulties.
I have posted "at least 7" before anyone even questioned this. In fact it's at least 8, and 3 out of 8. Wrong again, NONE in that list is for a monthly contract.
So do all people on contracts have to start calling their providers and demand setting limits? Indeed, although I interpret this differently and rest my case.Says it all >
P.S. After reading your post I can't resist catching you on blatant lie:
First I said:First you said it was only Tesco
And "*" wasn't a later addition....Tesco Mobile .... are the only* provider offering capping.
*Reportedly, "Three" do capping too if you ask.0
-
It was not a blatant lie and you have quoted the proof <LOL>
