if you knew someone was abusing the system would you report it?

I'm all for reporting benefit fraud but your sounding more bitter and ridiculous as you carry on posting....I would be more concerned about being friends with someone that works in a responsible role in a GP practice and has a loose mouth, hopefully they will find themselves jobless soon. I would also question your credibility working in an admin role, do you spill the gossip over a bottle of Lambrusco with Miss Loose Lips & Co?.0

He says he had a motability car taken off him a few years ago because he was deemed no longer requiring it
This bit says it all move along. you cant report him if his no longer getting the benefit, You can only get the car if you get the benefit.
Oh and i asked about you fruit and veg token at my nhs weigh in today and shes said shes never heard of such a scheme. I doubt his spent £250k that quickly and you cant claim esa with more than £16000. Case closed.0 -
These sort of folks do sometimes get their comeupence.
Their's a guy my f-in-l knows who feined a back injury for years. He knew how to 'doctor' his footwear in order to fool the ATOS medical examiner in to believing he really did have a bad back.
He never had any issues with lifting engines and other car componants around though.
He gets full benefits & the DWP even pay for 4 of the 5 garages he rents off the Council (the 5th one he is sub-renting from my f-in-law after conning him into letting him put his scooter in there for 'a week' (although this is coming to an abrupt halt as the Council are now going to kick him out and attempt to recover the £1400 in rent that he owes my f-in-l))
Last year, the guy was out riding his brand new scooter when a car pulled-out in front of him and left him in hospital for over 3 months.
Now, he really is disabled and unable to do any lifting at all.
As for 'Would I report someone for committing benefit fraud?'. Well, I have done.
I reported my eldest nephew as he claims benefits and also repairs and sells electronics such as TVs computers etc. He makes a good living out of the repair side, but is not registered for Tax, nor does the DWP have any idea of what he gets up to (well, the do now).
I also reported my niece for claiming as a single parent when she was living with her partner.Never Knowingly Understood.

First it's walking to the pub, then it's refusing medical help for being obese, now it's claiming anything and everything and going on holiday.
He had a motability car a day or 2 ago not he's given it back.
If he had £250k compensation maybe he had the money to buy his own car, or as has been said if he has disabled children then the car could be a motability car leased via his childrens DLA awards with him as the named driver.
OP if you want to report him do it. It's your choice at the end of the day. But be sure that you are happy to take responsibility (within yourself) for any pain/stress/ill health caused by your report that he may suffer should he be a genuine claimant.[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.

bluelass - a direct question for you:
Why do you think it's OK for you to be angry that someone reported your friend for not declaring extra work - let's not forget that she was guilty and has offered to pay back £5,000 of the £6,700 she owes - but you think it's OK for you to happily report someone else when you clearly have far less evidence that the person who reported your friend did?
Or was it OK for your friend to commit fraud because yourfriend is a lovely person.is also obese and on ESA.No im not envious I work 30 hours in a job I like im just saying when I first started with the seizures almost 4 years ago the consultant a the hospital signed me unfit for 2 months and I only got SSP and not full pay I was told I could try to claim PIP as many other people with certain health conditions in employment can but I was told I did not qualify. He drives a people carrier even though hee has 2 grown sons who still live with them, how does someone afford to buy that and tax insurance etc on benefits?
Not envious? Really? Your posts about what you can't claim suggest otherwise.
Report him if you will. But at least have the decency to do it for the right reasons.
And - from your later posts - it appears that these 2 grown sons you mention are autistic so maybe not that surprising that they live with him.0 -

so far most have just slagged the OP off for there opinion, weather bitter or not which isnt the point, when there is to sides of this.
Yes there are people who rightfully deserve the benefits they receive but at the same time there are people who do fraud the system & are taking money out of the budget that could be spent on the NHS or someone who actually needs it.
So if some one has concrete evidence that some one is committing fraud then they should put there evidence forward, weather bitter or not.
I am sure the majority of posts are not accusing the OP, but are suggesting how it may look from the off.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

As I mentioned before I don't have malicious motives I just think its wrong. I know his neighbour next door but one quite well from when I used to go to pub quizzes and he told me this man was called in by the DWP about 5 years ago and interviewed under caution. He actually admitted to not telling them about the full truth about his mobility and he was very lucky to avoid going to court and this is the reason his motability car was taken from him. His neighbour knows all this because the man went round knocking on doors saying he had been grassed on and when he found out who did it they would be sorry. I only discovered this yesterday evening when I bumped into his neighbour in a shop. This man tried to sue his next door neighbour last year when one of his sons posted a card through their door and went in crying saying he had slipped on the neighbours drive and hurt his knee. He even went to a PI firm and tried to start proceedings for a claim also his wife tried to sue a practice nurse claiming they put the blood pressure cuff on her arm so tight she fainted and had to go to hospital this is common knowledge because he has asked someone in the pub who works at a solicitors for advice regarding a medical negligence claim. Two Morrisons stores have banned them for going to the caf! and always sending food back and getting refunds so what does that tell you abou his character?Britain is great but Manchester is greater0

So we gather his not getting dla anymore so what are you going to report him for?0

this is common knowledge because he has asked someone in the pub

Yep, that should be evidential enough for any investigation.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A
