what do you do in the evening and weekends?

Evenings are always spent with OH, apart from the one evening a week he goes to training, and then we're either food shopping or watching tv or a movie together. When he's out at training I tend to do some baking or watch what I want, or see if a friend wants to come over. Saturdays OH is away doing his hobby so then I see friends, do one of my hobbies or just laze around if I feel like and Sunday are our day together so we play it by ear, unless we've arranged to see family or friends together.0

I think I'm a little different - I hate being on my own and can never settle. However, I like to dip in and out of environments and prefer larger groups where I am a small part. For example, I enjoy lunch with friends but could never go shopping with one friend, or on holiday with one friend.
Someone once said to me have lots of fingers in lots of pies, but don't over do it on one pie. So I prefer a lot of people at arms length, rather than a couple of people really close.
I waste time - for some reason instead of picking up a book and relaxing for a couple of hours, I will watch something trashy on the TV.
MY husband said those who are happy spending time on their own are usually the most confident - I agree, I get my confidence from others and wish I was more settled in my own company.Never again will the wolf get so close to my door :eek:0 -
Most of my free time is taken up with training these days. Running, cycling and swimming. To relax I either spend time cooking while listening to some music and get the guitar out and play for a bit. I'm happy to go to the cinema, theatre or gigs on my own.
I spend the vast majority of my free time on my own, but I'm very rarely sitting about doing nothing.0 -
Apart from watching the news and the odd wildlife programme I don't watch the T.V, I cant as its too boring for me.
I go on the internet, ring friends and read on an evening. In the summer I go out in my boat an on my bikes on an evening as well.
Have you considered joining a group of some description OP?,I go to a boat group on a Sunday and I have met lots of nice people.0 -

Thank you for starting this thread Calley, it's something i've been wanting to do but wasn't 100% sure about it.
Yes it gets lonely & i would love to meet someone & start a relationship & yes it would be nice to make friends but most of time i feel like people of better off without me in their lives.
I've become kinda used to the isolation which is probably a bad thing as it's got to the point where i just can't seem to get motivated anymore..
No you are not the only one.
I feel the same and wonder what I have got offer other people, apart from me. I can see nothing!!!!
Yes I have lost my motivation. I have house to finish off. but whats the point. I rarely get visitors and use it as an excuse as to why the place is so untidy.

Try to do your renovations, I painted a lot of my rooms last year in light colours, like lemon and cream and its been very uplifting to see the house looking so bright and clean.
If you have not got much money, try Wilkinsons for basics or community paint projects.0 -
I think I am one of those people who really enjoys my own company.
I have a hubby but he works a lot and my mum and sis live around the corner BUT its not like I see them all the time. Other than work I spend large amounts of time by myself with my animals which I LOVE.
Weekends when the weather is nice is spent walking the dogs and finding new places to take them as well as exploring old places. When the weather is rubbish (they are pug crosses so fair weather dogs) we all snuggle on the sofa with a blanket and watch films or I read and leave the tv on low volume for them to watch.
Maybe it is the fact I have other living beings in the house that makes it seem less lonely but I LOVE my life and other than wishing I was richer (don't we all) wouldn't change anything

Weekdays, after work, I sometimes go to the gym or the supermarket, then I usually go home, have a quick tidy up then dinner, shower and plonk myself in front of the TV until bed.
Weekends, sometimes meet friends or head out with my DH for dinner / drinks. Gym too, sometimes.0 -

I work. Seven days a week. Day and evening. I discovered some years ago that people would pay me for my hobby (no it isn't dirty) and so I do one kind of work in the day and another in the evenings/weekends. It has accumulated much wealth.still raining0
