what do you do in the evening and weekends?

I am curious what people do in the evenings at weekends.
I am single and live alone and thats not going to change in a hurry. I have a couple of friends who I see and hear from once in a blue moon. And due to family issues don't spend much time with them.
I need to finish decorating the house but have no enthusiasm to do it. My hobbies are ones to be done alone reading, cross stitch, watching films.
I am not depressed but just can't be arsed. I temp so don't work every week. So some times I spend days on my own.
I just feel like I am going to end up going to work (when I do), coming home making and eating tea then going to bed no matter what time and watching films, reading, cross stitch. Does that make me sad. I think it does. And makes my life a bit empty
I don't want to join any clubs as not really sure what I want to do. So I am a bit stuck.
Any ideas or help.
Thanks in advance
Yours

Would you consider volunteering somewhere? Spending life just working/eating/sleeping will wear you down in its own way, volunteering can be quite flexible and you get to spend ime with people and make a difference.
Me personally, I have spent alot of my life in that exact same 'holding pattern' and feel that it can drive you mad or make any present MH issue a lot worse.Emergency savings: 4600

Ironing, cleaning, chores, mostly. Batch cooking sometimes. Normally by this time I'm sat watching Netflix on the iPad while doing crosswords.
I am SO exciting. The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
Most evenings I'm either watching telly or on my pc. Weekends I'm usually doing the shopping, cooking or asleep.:DThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

have you thought about joining a club or group
or going to evening classes -they can be fun things as well as those that will help with work
get out and do things have some fun
The only people I have to answer to are my beautiful babies aged 8 and 50 -

Whats that? Not sure I would know what that is any more.
I think I am boring and don't have a lot to offer anyone.
I am also shy I know say the woman who temps. So hence the lack of friends.

How about an exercise class? I've found this a really good way to meet like-minded people. You could go in the evenings or on the days you're not at work. There are things like Zumba, insanity, boot camps, yoga etc so good for any fitness level0

How about learning something? (Maths, cookery, a language, philosophy, whatever)
Either via free online courses where you could be on your own if shy, or in "real life" courses if you want to be with others but not in a purely social situation.0 -
you already do two more things than me so you are well on your way to having a full and active life

Finding something that you 'want' to do can be difficult, it is all well and good saying join a club, go to nightclasses or do some volunteering but unless you actually want to do any of them, there is no point as it will mess you up even more.
During the winter months, I seldom venture outside in the evenings, i mostly watch a bit of TV, mess about on the computer and surf the net until about 10:30pm then head for bed.
Like you, I am not in fulltime work so I need to fill my days as well and they can be worse than the evenings
Not everyone is the outgoing type and will find it difficult to meet new people in clubs or evening classes even if they could find one intresting enough to make the effort.0 -
Hi
You say you don't want to join any clubs because you don't know what you want to do but the only way you'll find out if you like something is if you try it !
Trying something doesn't mean you're commiting yourself forever !

I know but it's also a money thing. I don't have huge amounts of money.
I find it really difficult to walk in the door!!!
