I've been with them three years and service has always been fine.

I assume as the world and his brother now want in, the service is suffering due to increased demand.

Saying which, launching a new improved version of F&S March 2016 when you haven't yet administered the piles of new business you already have to deal with would appear self-inflicted misery.

I've emailed them to ask for my switch to F&S to be amended to V2 as well.

I switched on the 10th Jan and still haven't received anything from them. I called the helpline number on the Co-op website but a recorded message says they will contact all new customers by the end of January. If it's then going to take them six weeks to complete the switch it all seems quite poor service? Surely they would have known Martin's advice to switch was coming so why not staff accordingly? I don't understand how companies in this situation can act surprised...
  • Started the switch to Co-op on 17th Jan through MSE; received the Welcome Pack today (20th Feb) with a supply date of 29th March - 10 weeks by my calculations. Doesn't bode well!

Just to update the thread, this was the response;-

"Thank you for contacting us about your recent request to change tariffs.

Your request to transfer to a new tariff will be actioned from the date requested. Due to the popularity of our new tariffs and the high number of customers requesting to move onto our Fair and Square tariffs it is taking us slightly longer than normal send out the confirmation letters.

Your confirmation paperwork will be sent to you in the next 28 days.

You do not need to contact us. Just to confirm, your change has been completed from the date you requested.

If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact a member of our team on: 0800 954 0693 or email info@cooperativeenergy.coop"

  • I applied via the cheap energy site to switch from Scottish Power to Co-Op on 17th March. I have heard nothing from either since. Should I be worried, I thought I would at least have received an email by now?

    Welcome to MSE cliver1956

Have you read the CEC FAQs?
    https://cheapenergyclub.moneysavingexpert.com/faq

In particular, these may help you
How long does it take to switch energy supplier?

Energy suppliers have a cooling-off period of 14 days, which starts from the date you submit your switch, so no action is taken until this period is over. The switch process can take up to 4- 6 weeks to complete, depending on the supplier, although some will now switch you more quickly.

But don't worry, you won't lose your supply during this time. It should be a seamless handover from one provider to the other. All that's really changing is the billing, not the actual gas and electricity that you're being supplied.

Energy suppliers are supposed to keep you updated on your switch (via letter/telephone/email - please keep an eye on your junk/spam folder). If you ever have any queries about your switch, you can always contact your energy supplier for an update.

    and
I've called the supplier and it knows nothing about the switch?

This doesn't mean your switch isn't in progress. We're finding more and more that suppliers' call centres don't have up-to-date information about switches (or they say they don't).

So if you've called the new supplier and it doesn't know about the switch, don't worry about it. Wait a few days, and you should receive confirmation of the switch in the post. Don't switch over the phone directly with the supplier - if you do, you'll miss out on any cashback you were eligible for.

    and
My application to switch is still outstanding, what do I do?

Check your account profile to see the status of your switch. It’ll say it’s either accepted, rejected or still in progress.

Usually your new supplier makes contact within 4-6 weeks. If it takes longer than 6-8 weeks, there may be a problem.

MoneySupermarket sends switch applications to the energy suppliers, so you’ll need to contact your chosen supplier if there are any issues. We’re only told about rejected or accepted switches after they have happened, so we can then issue any due.

When you contact your supplier, if you decide to make a switch directly to it, make sure you update Cheap Energy Club so we can revise the status of your old switch application. Remember if you don’t register your switch through CEC, your cashback will no longer be issued.
  • Hi Footy guy.
Yes i did read the faq's bit I got the impression that I should hear from the new supplier within a couple of weeks top say the move read in progress.
I'll give it a few more weeks add it still shows in progress in CEC.
    Thanks for the reply.
