If you don't believe me then check on one of the comparison sites or check on the E.on site, which is down at the moment (otherwise I would have given you the link!)0 -

You don't have to wait for the end of your tariff to switch as the exit charge for finishing early doesn't apply when you stay with E.on, only if you switch to a new supplier.
Easy to find out by using their online 'best deal for you' calculator and easy to switch online to a cheaper tariff. With the latest electricity reduction I'll be saving around £50 a year on my electricity (I don't have gas to the house).
Thanks madmoggies!
I followed EON Malc's advice yesterday after being informed that the 'exit fee' was only if I left EON and not if I left the 'product'. I am now on the new tariff. I also noticed the tick box to receive emails when a new tariff is launched.
I wrongly thought I had 'fixed' to the product but the kind people on here have helped me sort it out. :beer:DEBT FREE BY 60Starting Debt 21st August 2019 = £11,024

think I will wait a week or so to see what the cuts by the other big 6 are first before making a decision. SP as no Exit fees which is nice to know

I heard recently (within the last week) that Eon are the first of the big energy firms to pass savings, from the cost of fuel, onto the consumer. I am currently in credit on my Eon account and they wrote to me approx 2 weeks ago saying they would be lowering my monthly direct debit. The letter didn't make it very clear whether this was because I was in credit with them or this was because they have lowered their rates due to their savings. Does anybody know whether or not they have passed these savings onto the consumer already? Or is it something that will be happening in the future?
Hopefully I'm in for more savings soon0 -

if your on a fixed deal you wont see any reduction in your bill, (unless you move to a different tariff with Eon) which may be cheaper than your current tariff maybe,
do a comparion, or better still wait a week or so to see what the other big 5 do with their cuts (if any)0 -

We have an 'economy 7' meter but we don't have storage heaters so we don't use the 'day/night' rates. No need to stick to those rates if you have normal central heating.DEBT FREE BY 60Starting Debt 21st August 2019 = £11,024

Former_E.ON_Company_Representative:_Malc Organisation Representatives - Private Messages may not be monitored Posts: 6,558I have been switching with Eon on a regular basis now for ages , sometimes I have swapped to swap again less than a week later as I have found a cheaper tariff.
They are very good at sending an alert for new tariff but after hearing about the Gas price drop yesterday I switch again and will save about £2 a month (surprised that I have not had an email to alert me of a new tariff so glad I caught the news early yesterday as one more day at a cheaper rate is money in my pocket, I also found the electricity had gone down a fraction on the new tariff.
Hi Meadows
Sounds like you've signed up for Price Alerts. This an online only service where we send an email letting customers on fixed term agreements know that there's a newer version available.
Alerts go out no later than 10 days after the new version launches.
Although restricted to fixed term tariffs taken out after 6 December 13, this service isn't available to customers signed up to the MSE Collective tariff. This is because, as a standalone tariff, there won't be any new versions.
Hope this explains Meadows.
