That is the risk YOU took when you signed up to a fix with an exit fee.

You were free to choose another tariff that was safer.

    How am I a troll?

Oh, I pointed out that you took a risk and it didn't work as you hoped.

No point in getting arsey with me because you failed to consider all the variables.

I have been switching with Eon on a regular basis now for ages , sometimes I have swapped to swap again less than a week later as I have found a cheaper tariff.

They are very good at sending an alert for new tariff but after hearing about the Gas price drop yesterday I switch again and will save about £2 a month (surprised that I have not had an email to alert me of a new tariff so glad I caught the news early yesterday as one more day at a cheaper rate is money in my pocket, I also found the electricity had gone down a fraction on the new tariff.
Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.

I'm in the same boat having done the collective switch. But I'm not rushing to switch again as that will start the one year clock again. If I switch in a month I lose only £2 for that extra month. But need to get in before it disappears!

My '1 year fixed rate' with EON ends on January 17th.

I now need to do some sums to see what is the best thing to do regards fixing again or taking a chance to see if the electricity will fall too. Oh well, I have a few days to suss it out (if indeed I can! )

E.on's latest version of their one year fixed rate v.14 (available for dual fuel or electricity only) also includes a reduction in the cost of electricity as well as the much publicised cut to the gas price.

You don't have to wait for the end of your tariff to switch as the exit charge for finishing early doesn't apply when you stay with E.on, only if you switch to a new supplier.

Easy to find out by using their online 'best deal for you' calculator and easy to switch online to a cheaper tariff. With the latest electricity reduction I'll be saving around £50 a year on my electricity (I don't have gas to the house).

Just had a look at this, we took out a one year plan on October (eon energy fixed v8) and looks likes we need to switch to save on this announcement and there is a £10 exit fee as well.

If they are cutting prices they should cut all current tariffs by that amount .

No exit fee if you switch product with E.on, only if you leave them to switch to another supplier. I switch every time the price is reduced! Just gone from one year fixed v.12 to v.14 (v.13 was higher than v.12 which was only available to switch to for a short while).

what electricity reduction would that be? Eon haven't made one as far as I,m aware, its Gas only at the mo.

The V14 seems slightly lopsided, as the electricity seems to be a bit high. This would suggest that they intend to do a double dip by announcing another ~3% price drop soon.

No big deal, just switch for free, again, in three weeks time.

I'm on electricity only (high usage in winter for heating - heat pump - as no gas supply) and switching websites give E.on v.14 as almost the cheapest for electricity! Previous tariff I was on v.12 was similarly rated when I switched to it. The only cheaper tariff, which isn't much less esp. if you take E.on Rewards into consideration, has a whopping exit fee. Maybe it works out high for lower usage but it suits me fine.

I,m also on electric only, currently with scotish powers, dec 2015 online deal, just did a comparison and it shows E on v.14 £85 cheaper,
think I will wait a week or so to see what the cuts by the other big 6 are first before making a decision. SP as no Exit fees which is nice to know
