Don't watch it but Martin Lewis claimed on Twitter his money saving TV show on ITV crashed Co-op Energy website. Told people last week to switch to Co-op. Co-op will probably be left with costs now from cancelled switches. Might be worth a complaint to Ofcom as programmes are not meant to cause consumer detriment.
I remember similar in 2009. From MSE collective switch last year
while I do see the good work they do, they like all comparison sites get commission so they will always tell you to switch if a cheaper deal comes along.0 -

If they are cutting prices they should cut all current tariffs by that amount .
Hi Spooky_uk
Thought my replies to Pincher and socks_uk above might be of interest.
Exit fees only apply if changing supplier but not if you move to another E.ON tariff.
As well as new standard gas prices, there's updated versions of our other tariffs too. If you've registered online for Price Alerts, we'll send you an email letting you know there's a new version of your fixed tariff. This will be within 10 days of their release. You can see them on our website now though.
Hope this helps Spooky_uk. Let me know if you need any more information as happy to help.

Scottish Power used to (maybe they still do), waive the exit fee if you switch to another of their tariffs, they only charged the exit fee if you switched supplier.
Hi joncombe
Thought I'd confirm, as above posts, there's no exit fees for changing between different E.ON tariffs. They only apply when changing supplier.
Hope this is of interest.

Instinctively I know it is not good to have intermediaries on commission influencing public opinion and saying what is cheapest. They can't possibly know. I'm not clever enough to pin it down though.0 -

thanks
That's right d70cw6. No exit fees for changing between different E.ON tariffs, only if changing supplier. Sorry if this isn't clear.
Hope the above post are useful too d70cw6. Let me know if you need any more details as happy to help.

Not everybody can pay by direct debit due to erratic income and stay on the standard rate. This way they can put money by to pay the bill when it comes in.
It's nice to get even a little back.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........

I'm pleased I wasn't the only one who thought it was an exit fee from the fixed rate deal I'm already on, rather than just when you move energy company!

Hi socks_uk
I've just posted a reply to Pincher above that might be of help. From what you've said, I doubt any exit fees will apply to you.
There's no exit fees for changing to another E.ON tariff and you can do this at any time.
As your contract is coming to an end, we'll have sent you a renewal. This will have been between 42 and 49 days before the contract end date. During this period, you can change supplier without picking up an exit fee.
Also, if changing supplier whilst on a fixed deal, you can stay on the same prices for up to 20 working days after the contract ends. Provided, that is, it's cheaper for you.
Hope this helps socks_uk.

Thanks Malc... I've just changed my fixed tariff. Please may I ask if the date of my direct debit will change, it is currently 17th of the month (I get paid on the 15th of each month).

The V14 seems slightly lopsided, as the electricity seems to be a bit high. This would suggest that they intend to do a double dip by announcing another ~3% price drop soon.
No big deal, just switch for free, again, in three weeks time.0 -

Hi socks_uk
Yes, it's in the T&Cs.Thanks Malc... I've just changed my fixed tariff. Please may I ask if the date of my direct debit will change, it is currently 17th of the month (I get paid on the 15th of each month).
Thanks for helping. xx
No, the date we collect Monthly Direct Debits isn't affected by a tariff switch. The only way this will change is if you tell us to alter the collection date. You can do this online if you've registered with our website or by contacting us.
There might be a slight change if the collection date falls on a weekend or Bank Holiday. In this case, we'll take the payment on the next working day immediately after the weekend/holiday.
Thought I'd also mention a facility on our website that gives you more control over the monthly payments. It's the Direct Debit Manager and this lets you make changes to the monthly amount. Comes in handy should circumstances change.
Provided the account is billed up to the latest meter readings, you can change payments by up to 20 per cent up or down. By up to 5 per cent up or down without readings. Before putting the change through, we'll let you know by how much we anticipate the account will be in credit/debit if the new amount is confirmed but usage doesn't alter accordingly.
Hope this helps socks_uk. Let me know if I can help further as happy to do so.
