I don't know what's happened but Cadbury's chocolate just doesn't taste the same. I am buying galaxy chocolate now its nicer.Britain is great but Manchester is greater0

Cadbury are now off my list.
I have eaten Cadbury's chocolate since i was allowed to eat it (ie. since pre-school). It's now off the menu because the current owners have changed the recipe to include palm oil. This applies to dairy Milk as well as the much inferior recipe in Creme eggs.
I bought some Twirls last week and they tasted gritty and the chocolate didn't feel right. For the first time I didn't want to eat this stuff.
I complained to "Mondelez" and received a standard email telling me that their recipes varied but their delicious chocolate was still the best (or some nonsense).
So I am making a resolution that from now on all chocolate I buy will not contain palm oil - anot Cadbury sadly.
There are other brands and they are much better!0 -

Dairy Milk has contained Palm Oil (in the UK) for a long, long time. It's just recent EU legislation on Reference Intakes etc that it's become listed on many products.
I appreciate that the cost of raw goods is increasing due to poor harvests, pressure from the FSA to tackle obesity but now Nestl! have shrunk KitKat Chunky down from 48g to 40g!It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. This highlights something
If ingredient costs rise (for any food) why do they bump up the price and reduce the portion. Surely they should either keep the cost static and reduce the quantity or keep the quantity the same but increase the cost.
I don't mind paying 30p more for a bar of chocolate but not one that is 1/3 less.0 -

If they bothered to conduct consumer research I think they'd find people would be willing to pay slightly more for the same weight rather than the same price and a reduction.
There is going to be a point when they can't cut the size of products (without discontinuing them) anymore because I can't imagine many people would pay £1 for 30g of chocolate! It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history.
