  • Interestingly after requesting a refund Homewish have miraculously learnt how to respond to emails again. I have now received the same message as rexmundi6 saying that it will take approximately 3-5 days and may not appear on my account for 10 days.

They have breached the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982 by not carrying out their service within a reasonable time or with reasonable care.

If they don't issue my refund I will be writing an official complaint to Consumers Direct and if I need to take things further I will seek the advice of a Financial Ombudsman.

Oh and if John is fictitious, it is against the law to pose as a satisfied customer online. The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations state: "A commercial practice is unfair if... (it is) falsely representing oneself as a consumer."

:money: Great advice from Mr Lewis!:T

Homewish UK are a complete con and I would never recommend anyone buys anything from them!

I ordered a set of two dining chairs - the box arrived and was delivered to my next door neighbour when I was at work - the package was three weeks late in arriving. When I opened the order, the CHAIR was the incorrect colour and they had only sent 1 chair of a set of 2.

I subsequently complained and received an email advising that they would look into it - another two weeks passed - I emailed again and nothing.

I opened a dispute with my bank as I got nowhere with Homewish UK and it has taken 6 months to get my money back.

I have complained to Trading Standards and they confirmed that they dealing with it as I am not the first person to complain. The registered office is a residential address and is also vacant.

I shall certainly be far more careful in future when purchasing off the internet.
  • Following my previous post, I can confirm that whilst Homewish never responded to my emails, they did refund my order for the full amount.:T

There seem to be more and more of these companies that seem to be drop shippers.
So many complaints on here about items that arrive late broken.People really need to check out websites they are buying from. You can't just buy on price.
  • At the end of October I ordered a dining room table and chairs from homewish.uk. The website stated an estimated delivery date of 13 - 15 November. A day later I received an email saying that the delivery may be slightly delayed.
It is now 26th November and I have heard nothing since. I emailed their customer service two days ago but as yet have received no reply.

I have now researched the company a little further (wish I had before I'd ordered) and this appears to be common practice with them, according to a number of customer reviews on various internet forums including moneysupermarket.

I hold out a glimmer of hope for a delivery before Christmas, but given others' past experience am not confident that I will receive either the goods that I ordered in good faith, or indeed a refund.

    My advice: steer well clear.
  • I am not sure what all you guys are on about, I just ordered a bed from homewish and the order was delivered next day.
I did not need to contact their customer services for anything so I cannot comment on that.
A friend of mine purchased from there too on my advise and she says she had no issues either.
Perhaps they have changed something since your last posts?

Claire7892 nice of you to join and tell us what a wonderful company they are, cynical people like me would assume your being paid to do that. Maybe your not really Claire but Mr Kay or Mrs Heimann?

Odd how their registered address and trading address differs on their website to that at companies house?

How many holes do you want me to pick with the dodgy website? Maybe you need to fix that before creating forum accounts?

Tell them to get a landline phone number so customers can call with their problems?

Curious as to why you joined just to praise this company?

  • forgotmyname, I am sure you can find issues in anything if you are looking for them. I am a customer who came across this thread and decided to tell you all my own experience; believe what you want.
It is no wonder there is no one praising this company posts on this thread, they would only get bullied by 'cynical people' like you.
And by the way, MOST companies have a different registered and trading addresses, do your research.

Here are one of their associated companies now in liquidation. Read the reviews

    https://www.endole.co.uk/company/07737164/furniture-town-uk-ltd
    Furniture town/ furniture countrywide

    https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.furniturecountrywide.co.uk
    Eg
" This is a scam company. They don't deliver next day then say they will in a week, then say they are in liquidation. They have been using this method of operation since March 2015 at least, but still take orders. If you have ordered through them, get in touch with your bank as soon as possible and report the company to Action Fraud"

    Also own furniture club limited
    Homewish limited
    Homeday limited
    Furniture joy limited

Different registered and trading address is normal yes.. But thats not what i said.
Different trading address on the website compared to the companies house trading address.

Same with the registered address, that doesnt match either.

So which one are the hiding behind? Given companies house a false trading address? Or a dodgy trading address on the website?

Maybe they forgot where they work? No wonder people complain about delays if they dont know their trading address.

I have screen shots of the different addresses if you want me to share them?
