Who is responsible for fence repair

This is my first home, have been here for 15yrs, and it's not something I have ever had to tackle before.
Is it also standard these days that I am responsible for the fencing on my left?
That's an urban myth.Fence boundaries
There’s no law about who owns the boundaries around your property, eg which side of the fence, walls or hedges you’re responsible for.
Check your deeds to find out if there are any boundary agreements. If nothing’s been agreed you can set up an agreement with your neighbours.====0 -
just having a look through my Deeds and they are just plot numbers from when the house was built in the 80's. My neighbour's house wasn't even built when the Land Registry Map was done0

Any "T" marks on the map?
If not, as the other house wasn't there when yours was built, I would say that the boundary is your responsibility.0 -
a picture of the fence might have helped, which side are the posts on? is it one of those cheap posts between panels jobbies?
and the photo of the deeds is too small to make out any detail as previous post said, if the fence was there before the neighbours house then its yours.0 -
no T marks, have placed the images in my last posting so hopefully one of the mods can upload for me as OS map on the Deeds shows that the houses at the bottom of my garden had not yet been built. I suppose I am gonna have to contact the Land Registry?0

yes the whole estate was just a cheap shoddy job, I remember it going up as I passed it when I visited my parents....the whole estate was pretty much up in a week :rotfl:and yes the fence is just a cheapy wooden post job0 -

I haven't a clue on how these things work, I said that in my initial post, I am just a single girlie who purchased her first house OK and still have lots to learn about the Y's and wherefores and I didn't realise my neighbour's had not yet been built until I just took a peek at the Land Registry map ok?0
