Can I join? Normally I spend £175 a month on supermarket shopping which includes food for me and my OH and our 3 cats. I want to aim for £160 this month.
I have changed tactics this month. Usually I just do an online shop each week, mainly because I don't drive. what I have done is bulk buy the heavy non perishables which is mainly cat food and litter to last the month. I have also got a big bag of pasta and bottles of own brand fizzy drinks for OH to last the month. Plus lots of toilet roll and freezer essentials. So so far have spent £50, leaving me with a weekly budget for food of £27.50. I will go to lidl and tesco near me for my weekly food shop.0 -

Please can I join the challenge, my OH and I (and our cat!) spend a ridiculous amount of groceries!! I have quit alcohol for June but have a hen weekend to attend (not sure how that is going to work), the extra cost of that won't be included in our grocery shop.
To make it an achievable challenge I am going to pledge £150 for grocery shopping. Any tips on keeping my OH in check would be gratefully received!!!0 -
I'm in for this month please! I'm going to go for £240, we were not very good at food budgeting last month. With a new baby, shopping and meal planning quickly went out the window (though if I'd been organised and actually meal planned and set up supermarket deliveries, it probably would have been doable.)

Hi
I'd like to join please.
Just me and the other half, so I would like to go for £150 for the month, we have plenty in stores and need to seriously use it up as we are looking to move towards the end of the year.0 -
I'm in at £100. Should be a fairly quiet month entertaining-wise so should make it!0

Hello everyone,
Thank you to everyone who runs the thread.
I would like to join again for the month of June and am going to keep up this month.
I am going to go again for £240 for the month which is starting tomorrow.
We are trying to be veggie, and I am baking my own bread, rolls, etc and also biscuits and snacks, so trying to keep in as low as I can.
DD is going to have a BBQ birthday party in June, but I am not going to include this in my monthly challenge, but I am going to see how cheaply I can do it for.:D
Good luck everyone.SPC 11 #4450 -
Positive start today, 10 portions of bolognese, 12 portions of soup and 18 almond, banana and raisin flapjacks made - organisation and planning are key I think!!0
