July grocery challenge START: £150.
total SPENT £127.53, REMAINING £22.37.0 -
I am in again this month, £250 please, have come in under budget last 2 months and am feeling pretty pleased with that so have reduced amount again. It shouldnt be such an expensive month, last 2 Ive had to have work done on my car so been quite expensive, though this isnt part of grocery budget it still all comes out of bank account. DD is home but will be working so will have a bit of money so shouldnt need so much from me! DS has also got a summer job which he starts 1 July for couple of months, I dont expect him to pay keep, however, I have told him he needs to save some and be careful what he spends the rest on.
After shopping yesterday DD decided she would go through cupboards and "organise", we have quite a good store cupboard and plenty in the freezer, so have meal planned for the week and expect to do a smaller shop next week too. Will keep you posted on that! She also loves to bake so am expecting some cakes this weekThat will save on packed lunch treats. I am going to look at recipes on here and see what I can suggest!!
Thoughts to all. Mrs D.

I wasn't going to go out today, but was lured out when the sun came out.
Big mistake -
£40 on meat from the butchers for the freezer (they were doing an offer) - 2 steaks, 2 chicken breasts, 12 sausages, 12 burgers, 1lb diced turkey breast, 1lb mince, 1lb belly pork, 6 drum sticks, 1lb bacon.
£5 on a cooked breakfast and milky coffeeThat sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

:hello: Hello to everyone and thanks to all who run the thread.
June is a 4 week month for us so £200 please for June. Have managed to do a full months meal plan and tried to use numerous things that we already have in. Doubt very much that the plan will be adhered to fully but at least there are ideas in place.
Good luck everyone and will join you properly on Monday.MARCH £62.38/2500 -
currently 30 spent. i need to spend less than about 120 this month as it's a heavy month for out goings.
have loads of stock in the house. milk eggs and super six veg from aldi will be the only out goings if possible. i could easily manage with just fresh veg and milk. eating out of the freezer and cupboards will be a challenge.0 -
I'm going to be on holiday for part of June so have decided to have a month off - but I'll be back again in July!
Denise... so instead of buying biscuits or cereal bars for them I'm going to make some myself. So far we've tested oaty biscuits, chocolate cup cakes and fairy cakes and they've been quite popular! Going to dig out the recipe books and see what else we can try!

I'd like to take part - this month is an odd one though as it is when I do my big quarterly stock up on cleaning stuff\washing powder\loo roll\toiletries\pet foods.
So, I am going to exclude that stuff and just food will be £200 (my tablet won't let me make it red!) for 4 weeks for 2 adults. Clearly we are big food spenders! But, we don't eat grains due to my wifes allergy so as they are so cheap it does make things slightly more pricey. Our veg, milk, eggs, etc comes from a organic delivery company, so no chance of reducing that. Our meat comes from the butchers so I can go for cheaper cuts, cheaper types of fish from the fishmongers, but that is it really.
We don't eat processed foods due to their likelihood of gluten\grain contamination and those are usually the ones on offer at places. Starting as of Monday.0 -
I would like to start this month for the grocery challenge. I am going to give myself £150 as I have a night out planned with my friends, but other than that it should be a good month. We do have a stocked fridge atm for the weekend so I will start this on 1st June.Joined April 2015 :j0

Finally finished off my shopping list - got eggs, bean sprouts, food bags... and pears, cherries, grapes, mushrooms, peppers, mangos, sharon fruit... (and two lovely tops for work)
£17 (excluding tops)That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.
