Afternoon all - just reporting my weekly spends which were £26.33 on mainly veg fruit milk and bread so still on target although freezer is starting to look less like tetris and have cupboard space - resisting the urge to go and fill them up again!
Still have not ventured into a SM in 2015 and bought huge bag of potatoes from a farm for £3 so lots of potato based meals being planned. My month runs from 9th - 9th so 12 days to go, may have to increase next month as my lot have decided they want to take packed lunches every day.
Agree this thread is great for keeping a track of the 'little' shops which add up over the month and really seeing the reduction in waste as everything is used up with menu planning.
NSD today as weather is truly vile - windy and hailstones - feel soup making coming on.

fairy3 - I think you'll find it will work out cheaper if everyone takes packed lunches every day rather than buying stuff. Just need to reallocate money from whichever budget you use to buy daily lunches.

Another NSD here as well. We had hm crab cakes today with some salad and I also tried making my own crisps - if I have the time I will not be buying crisps again. Two small potatoes did 75g of crisps - the factories who produce them must get hundred of packets out of a single sack.

Aldi voucher this Thursday in the mirror (England) the record (Scotland) 55p.
  • I seem to have only 70p left to last me till Friday. I'm going to go over because we'll need milk before then. I have enough fruit/veg/bread in and we're eating out the freezer for the rest of the week, so it could be worse. In fact, it would definitely be worse if I wasn't reporting here. I found myself with a couple of hours to spare hanging around waiting for DD and mooched round both M*S and Sainsbugs. The urge to spend just for the sake of it was strong but I resisted!:) They really are masters at the art of temptation.

Have spent £145.45 this month on all food - meals out (lots) cleaning stuff and toothpaste and shower gel. Did a big shop yesterday in Sainsbuds as I had a £12 off £60 coupon they sent me. I walked round the store with pen ad paper and wrote down the cost of each item and stopped when I got to £60.04 :D So with all the reduced items etc my store cupboard and 2 freezers are packed.
  • Hopefully done...but will check back in at the weekend. :) I don't think we've ever had such a low month! We've even had to buy nappies so we're very proud. :T
Hoping to keep it up in March. :p
    Happy Tuesday everyone. x
