Counting pennies- I would struggle to spend £90 in tesco but if there is stuff that you buy anyway that you can stock up on I would go for it!

It depends whether you would buy stuff because of the voucher that you could get cheaper elsewhere.

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Hi All
A quick post to say I have definately gone over budget this month. I think £180 is just too low for us as I have so far spent £200 & we have to get to Friday yet.
I'm not down, it's a learning curve. I have managed to make cuts every month since October so I think £200 is the realistic monthly amount for us. Although I do think without half term we may have stuck to the £180.
I'm going to sign up for the march challenge now.

Anybody know what I can do with chocolate nesquick (other than the obvious) just found a container that has just gone out of date. Kids don't really like choc milkshake (drunk it once in a blue moon!). Didn't know if I could use it instead f cocoa powder in a recipe?

We have used it for hot chocolate before, did in fact the other night, I find it quite sweet though. I wouldn't use it instead of cocoa as there is not enough actual choc flavour there for baking. Maybe stir into rice pudding?

A big shop in Asda of £20.67, plus a few bits in HB, £4.94. I am also counting my £1 spend in Poundland, which was for 2 pairs of socks. I was in desperate need!

EDIT: managed to get an APG of 51p from my shop! Woo!

Not the final shop of the month as I can see me needing to get more cat food.
    Keep reading books!

Have just been away for the weekend and managed not to spend anything on food - took it all with us! DH paid for a coffee each on Saturday.

So NSDs - Friday, Saturday, Sunday and today - really pleased with that. I'm now at 15 NSDs for the month. Hoping that by the end of the month that the figure will be 18! Fingers crossed!

I have gone massively over again £524 - this is part due to eating out for valentines and part due to bulk buying some stuff. I always add drinks and food out to my monthly spend - which I should maybe take out to avoid going over every month eek!

Think I went a bit mad on Saturday in Morry's and spent quite a lot more than usual. Have just £33.04 left although in my defence I did drop this months budget by £40 mainly to see if I could do it - I doubt we will make it but maybe it will not be too much of an overspend.

We have separate budgets for groceries, eating out, weekends away and bulk buys; although not much in the bulk buys budget at the moment as had a fairly big spend on Chinese and Asian foods last month (think there's about £1 left in there!).

Perhaps it would work better for you if you did something similar. It's just a case of finding what works for you.
