    Hi Folks,

Reporting in on the last week of the month, this is my first month doing this, and it has gone really well.

So far this month I have spent £481 of a budget of £600, and £119 needs to last me until Saturday, no problem, should be fine.

I didn't want to go over budget for last week, so decided to use some L*dl frozen roasting joints that I had in the freezer for yesterday's Sunday dinner, and the last four baking potatoes as roasties, I also found a pack of frozen yorkshire puds, and used quite a bit of the veg from my Friday organic box.

I realise that I would in the past have gone out and bought fresh meat, or ordered a shop to be delivered, and would have ended up buying a whole heap of other things along side what I needed, just because I could!

I haven't bought anything since Thursday's spend, and another NSD today, which I shall add to my total shortly. Before this, I would definitely have had another grocery delivery for Sunday morning, the excuse being that I have 'delivery saver', so don't pay extra for each additional delivery!

This month has taught me a lot, and I am looking forward to posting in the March challenge thread at the end of the week.
Making time for me now. Out with old habits and ideas, and open to change......:j
  • i went over by $18.xx so that's not too bad. We have enough of everything to get us thru until March 1. I think I will keep my goal the same for next month..altho I will be stocking up on corned beef brisket and bangers...maybe I can make a separate budget for that.
  • Did a rather larger than should have been shop at the weekend which hopefully means that I will be over this month but the freezer and cupboards are now so well stocked March should be a light month

    Will update sig

  • Hi everyone

I've seen mentioned in earlier posts that theres an Aldi voucher this Thursday. I'm certainly hoping so. Need a big shop this weekend. Only tomorrow to get through and I'm now £2.00 over budget. Was ready to come in bang target then the kids told me yesterday that they needed to take party food to Brownies so I had to go to sainsburys to pick up 24 value rolls and a pack of the basics sandwhich chicken. Oh well, nothing more to spend today, maybe milk tomorrow but we've enough stuff in to keep us going. Will declare properly tomorrow evening then start on March on Thursday. Good luck everyone x

£59.81 this week. Signature adjusted. That's £6 more than it should have been due to me not being able to find a new jar of coffee, thinking maybe I'd used the new jar and forgotten and going out and spending £6 on 2 more jars on offer. Came home and without thinking bent down to put one jar away. Guess what.....you're not wrong. In the only cupboard that I hadn't looked in, I found the jar of coffee that I already had, sigh. Still, no need to buy coffee for a while. I did notice that the price of the smallest tin of He*nz beans had gone up from 40p (briefly reduced from 45p) to 49p. How much!!!!!!

NSD for me today. DH is at hospital today getting a biopsy on his voice box so I am making a light soup for dinner tonight. That's if he feels like eating anything at all :(. Hoping to have another NSD tomorrow too which could mean I come in under target this month :)

Back from a top up shop which came to £13.07 but this included a couple of Slimming World ready meals for a fiver (don't often use ready meals but there are times when they can be handy! Bought one curry and a bag of sausages).

Have added to total and now stands at £158.07/£250. With only one more shop to go for the month it's looking good to have some leftover to put towards Christmas or bulk buys.

Off to sign up for the March challenge. I really find the challenges make me think before spending.
