Final weekly food shop for this month and it came in at £38.74 which leaves me with a fiver for the week - should be doable! :beer:0

We went out to Hack green nuclear bunker yesterday.. got lost around the lanes and by the time we found civilisation (haha) time was getting on a bit.. So we went Mcdona!ds! It is so expensive to feed us in there, we spent £25 and it wasn't even very nice
Anyway, as I am counting ALL food spends including takeaways in my budget, that has put me over. I still have a week to go but I'm sure I only need to spend about £10 for milk/bread/potatoes next week.
I need to make a start on my meal planner & shopping lists for March.
Well done to those finishing under budget, and best of luck next month to those that aren't

Spent £15 in sainbobs but £9 is for gift and food/drink contribution to my friend's party, £1 newspaper, so really only £5 out of GC.
In the paper I found a voucher for £5 off £40 in L1dl and had found another one just lying around earlier, so it is stocking up time, especially with the Aldee one coming up soon! Upwards of £100 will go in dry goods stocks, laundry, tinned veg and olives/gherkins for the pantry, not to mention a couple of cases of beer for the men, they will be well pleased!
If I use one of each this month and one of each next month it will balance things nicely, except that I might go slightly over budget this month, but if it is for stock-up it is not a problem.
Off to update sig now. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Morning all,
I have been doing this challenge for nearly a year now and at the start I thought we were already quite low on our budget without missing out on anything! At first I struggled to spend under £250 and went over every month. Now my monthly bill is about £200 for 2 adults and 2 children......
......I guess what I'm trying to say is that I use the vouchers to work fir me and not let the supermarket persuade me to do my weekly shop there!
Went shopping today so
A*di..................£10.90
Home Bags.........£3.27
Mr T..................£1.95
Morrys...............£14.61 (£7.99 of that was fish )
So total of £30.73 which means I'm still within my budget for the month atm. Might need milk but hope that's all fingers xd.
Hope you all have a super Sunday

Last weeks spend was £58.65, signature updated. Perilously close to my weekly target of £60 due to half term. I'm just not as organised when my son is off school.0

I spent last Friday and having updated my sig I have just £1.78 left - the only thing I can see that I may have to buy is a couple of litres of milk, so I should be ok until next month - fingers crossed.
Coming in under budget could be a 'first' for me in a long long time :eek:0 -
Hello everyone,
Just to update my challenge spends for Feb.
Shopped in Ald* and spent £54.63 and then shopped in asd@ and spent £4.50.
I am still under budget for the month just!
It has been a bit hard this month as DHs pay has been erratic and so have had to really think about things which is good. I think I can do much better so will have to plan more for March and use vouchers more.
I was wondering do people keep large stocks in their cupboards and freezers, or do you just plan it either weekly or monthly and just keep the minimum amounts in?
Although I do have a rough menu plan in mind, I like to have a choice of things to cook for meals, so think this could be my downfall.:rotfl:
Should have the ald* voucher this week, and I too have voucher for L*dl that came in the paper, so will have to do some careful planning and thinking. I also have some Ts vouchers to use, so will put my thinking cap on.
Thanks for all the ideas and support everyone.:)SPC 11 #4450 -
2 NSDs for the weekend, still have to gather up Friday's receipts...we had to leave town before I could do Aldi so at least didn't spend anything in thereFirst they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0
