Square one indeed KC. We are staying put. What a costly stressful experience.

Focussing on the positives. Going to do some work to here and make it how we want it.

Just need to wait to see the damage from the solicitor now in terms of fees for work done.

To cheer myself up I’ve flung £1001 at the mortgage as a nice OP!

Aww sorry to hear it’s fallen through. I think it’s not a good time to be a buyer at the minute. What’s wrong with your current house? Is it adaptable to meet what you need and make you happy long term x

We lost our dream derelict a few years ago and I have tried to look at this house through new eyes. We did not need the agro of living in a motorhome or spending all our spare on bringing it back to life, but it was in a great location. Lots of nice places round here that we could do something with though. And we are slowly making changes to this house to update it and make it future proof
    Save £12k in 2025 #2 I saved £14,660.97 of £6000 or 244.35% of my target. The 2026 Save £12k in 2026 thread is here
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I finished the year at £2880.99/£3000 or 96.03% of my annual spend so I am sticking with a £3000 annual budget for 2026
I also Reverse Meal Plan on that thread and grow much of our own premium price fruit and veg, joining in on the grow your own in 2026 discussion thread

Nothing wrong really. It was more about making life a little easier with commutes.

However we always had plans for this house if we didn’t move so we are just going to plough ahead with those.

Think it’s the way forward for sure… and I almost feel we had to go through this to realise this is where we are meant to be..

Thanks for all the love… 🥰

It’s all ok though. Feeling much more positive about this house. Spent a lot of yesterday and today attacking the garden I have neglected a bit because of thinking we were moving, so quite a few bags of garden waste to go to the tip.

First project is to convert half the garage into a utility room / office for DH. It was only going to be a utility room but Covid etc means he won’t return to the office as much as before so he needs a permanent base.

Lots of measuring up and pricing up materials today. Hope to be able to order the main materials this week.

Also going to repaint our bedroom and buy some much needed drawers / storage.
