I think this lockdown is hitting much harder than last March's. January is always a bit flat anyway (post Xmas blues), the days are short, cold and possibly wet (less opportunity to get out for some vitamin D and just to see others around), Jan is a long month for many if they got paid early in Dec, we've been here before and it is not new this time, the liklihood is it will be extended, the death rate at this time of year always seems higher anyway (when I worked on deceased accounts at a Ambani January was our busiest time of the new for notifications) ... etc (sorry to sound so miserable on a Saturday morning!)
BUT - we are in this one with the days lengthening gradually each day, the signs of Spring are visible (bulbs popping up, signs of leaves on trees in our garden), we know warmer weather (and lower heating bills) will be with us relatively soon.... and in the meantime if we can get out in the crisp Winter air for a walk (however short) we will benefit and Winter days mean soups and stews and mashed potato and hot chocolate- all good things!
And acknowledge that it is very much ok not to feel ok.. xxI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £204 -

thank YOU all for popping in on the back of that comment. I was very mopey and ended up getting out for a few hours, getting caught in a hail storm which actually made me feel so much better despite the stinging face. I know it’s up and down for all. But thank you for being there.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Reached payout with prolific and also reached payout with Shoppix so £10 added to the money earned pot which is nearly £150 for this month.Spent most of yesterday outside, put some compost onto our veg beds, still need another 10 bags or so. Cut down some bamboo that always goes mad over the year and prepped lots of seed trays in the greenhouse. I won’t start planting for another month I reckon but I’ve got my plan for the year and the beds and can’t wait to get going.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Sold a fleabay item overnight and also transferred the mortgage OP pot and 365 pot built up so far to Premium bonds.Looking forward to tinkering with the budget and ‘pots’ this weekend as it’s the two council tax free months approaching so that’s £182 extra to play with. I can we can assume lockdown will wipe out at least half of February so can adjust the other budgets accordingly. It’s cold out there but we are getting up and out early today to go to a local park for a few hours. Will do some home ed this afternoon.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)
