Tale of two halves the last two days.Yesterday. Just appalling. I was in a foul mood, snappy and generally not very nice to be around. Though we did get out for a few hours which was enjoyable. Enough said about yesterday.Today we’ve been out all morning in the fresh air. I’ve snaffled £5 from Ipsos and cashed in £1.67 from tcb. Both gone to Amazon. Cashed out £6.30 from prolific. Divvied up £20.16 for settee payments as the new ones arrived but payment won’t start till end of February.OP £294.73/£2500
Savings £224.02/£2000
I’m debating just whacking the £2500 off the mortgage now from savings and then spend the remainder of the year working towards £4500 savings. Cant decide if that’s risky. Plus points, monthly mortgage payment will reduce but I can keep still overpaying back up to the current monthly payment. Then every extra bit I earn or save from budgets throughout the year will just go towards savings until we reach our goal.Any thoughts? Current savings are in premium bonds so no interest but I could hit the biggie. 😀DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

I'd split it. Any kind of percentage 50%/50%, 60%/40% etc... Take a little of the best of each side.MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......2

Is the risk that you might need that money, if you repay £2500 off the mortgage? If you're worried about it, 50/50 is the way to go, like Jimmy said2023: the year I get to buy a car2

thanks both. After sleeping on it I’ve decided to leave as is and just keep splitting everything 50/50.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

So much for blue Monday! Total urgh of a day. Managed 25p on surveys and a possible £2 tcb bonus for buying something on fleabay I needed but just hadn’t got round to clicking buy on, nothing more exciting than some exercise books for the kids.Kids super tired after 6 hours in the garden yesterday and cranky with it so got us all out again this morning and then just tried to have a quiet day. Be glad when bedtime hits tonight for them and me!DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Blah. At that point in the point when nothing happens money wise. £1.01 interest from energy supplier along with a horrendous bill this month. Good job we are quite well in credit.Waiting for prolific survey to credit and that will be payout again but otherwise surveys been thinking on the ground and the one poll app is driving me potty!!DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

I couldn't agree more about One Poll! It's so slow it's boring me now 🙁 Surveys generally do seem to be a bit quieter this month, most annoying!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
Cleared 🧚♀️🧚♀️🧚♀️!!! In 5 years, 1 month and 29 days
Total amount repaid: £72,307.03. £1.10 repaid for every £1.00 borrowed
Finally earning interest instead of paying it!!!4 -
Sat with my laptop on for a few hours this morning and managed to nab quite a few prolific surveys and a product review from Ipsos which makes a nice change.Beginning to recognise I have a huge dip mentally about every 6/7 days with this blinking lockdown. I know I should go out. I know I shouldn’t eat my feelings but actually I’m just going to roll with it once a week. Tomorrow is another day and I’ll just digest the rubbish Bojo will spout later and then get on with life as we know it.Cant believe it’s Friday. Days seem so short and weeks seem short but how is it still January?!!Prolific nearly at payout. Been creeping up all day with studies being approved. Most exciting thing I’ve done today is peruse new wellies online.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

I know what you mean about mood. I read the article Clive Myrie (the BBC journalist) has written for The Times after his piece in the London Hospital was shown this week. Genuinely written with sensitivity and compassion and I had a really good cry when he wrote about the team in the mortuary. I do feel better for having released a bit of the emotion.
We "just" need to keep on, keeping on, doing the things we can control and letting the other stuff flow on by. You are not alone feeling like that, if it is any help to know you aren't on your own.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £9586.01 out of £6000 after August (158.45%)
