  • I'm back! Lovely time away but focus very much on money and reducing the balance now. I've already OP £223.14 in January and will check the mortgage balance when I can at 7am!!

Talked a lot about whether we move house when we are away and still no real decisions made, but we will keep an eye on properties and see if anything interesting comes up. In the meantime, we will do a few things to the house (replacing the bathroom floor, touching up paint etc) to put us in the best position if we do decide to up sticks.

We won again on Premium B0nds when away, another £25, so will OP that soon.

Also cashed out £27 from pr0filic so that's gone straight to the mortgage today!

Came back with about £140 of the spending money left, so pleased we didn't go over, had hoped for slightly more, but hey ho. It was a once in a decade type trip!

Your trip sounds fab and coming home with spends is a bonus. The move/stay dilemma is hard isn't it, we went round in circles for years and I talked myself in and out of decisions very quickly. Hope you can do what's best for you but always a good idea to have the house 'ready' (and sometimes this is actually enough to stop you wanting to move).

  • Having a debate with the kennels over the bill and the care given whilst we are away. Likely to need a vets trip tomorrow which I’m annoyed about when you pay so much to think they weren’t cared for.

Mortgage is at £75,522.78. Not sure if the OP has gone off yet.

Requested £5 amaz0n voucher from ips0s today. Surveys are quite active as well. Now I’m nearly over jet lag hopefully I can focus a lot more on life!

Need to move banks. Having issues with ours in that the app doesn’t do what I need it to. Any recs for a good one? I think I’ve exhausted all switching bonuses. I need one where the app shows real time balances. Otherwise I get in a right pickle.

  • Second post! Just realised I had £25 in the OP pot so sent that over to the mortgage. Also trying to save £1 a day so I should have £366 by the end of the year to OP, I'm just rounding down the 'pots' in the account on a weekly basis, currently up to £17 for that.

Been doing some home ed housekeeping and cancelled one of the subs they have which will save £17 a month, it's a science one and it's been great, but we will rest it now as there is another one we will sign up to when they are a bit older.

fleabay sales started off well, one item sold and posted, one sold and waiting payment. Did have a silly offer on another but declined that. Lots of stuff that has been on there for ages has been packed up and ready to go to charity. 2020 will be the year I am seriously going to declutter the house. There is just too much 'stuff'!!

Just renewed house insurance and saved £47 on the renewal price, cashback also tracked at £40 but I'm not hopeful that will be confirmed as I did it first on a comparison site and then went to TCB. It was below £100 anyway so that makes me happy!

  • I’m with 1st Direct and the app is really good and shows up to date balances. Only 1 gripe is you have to log on to desktop to op the mortgage but it’s not a biggie as can still do it on phone/tablet. I’m sure you’ll be able to do it on the app at some point.

  • Kennels sorted after an argument about fees so ended up with £27 excess in our account and with some fleabay sales, I've OP £36.49 today and mortgage has updated to £75,299.64.

Had a parcel go missing whilst we were away so having a debate / dispute with the company and through palpay with them! So annoying!

Sold 5 things on fleabay which is great that they are going out of the house!

Saving £1 a day is up to £22, so a little ahead of where I need to be there.

All in all, a productive few days.
