Thank you all.. I have no wobbles at all about our decision as each week goes by. they are also talking about a part time timetable for him which I just do not know how people that couldn't / didn't want to home ed or whom work full time could manage that?
I'm really pushing back against that right now as we have 7 weeks left, 1 week, then half term and then 6 weeks to go.
Forgot to say I reached payout on 1poll!! Yey - £40 on the way and off again towards the next payout with 5p banked!DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Don't furor the you should (depending on his level of ska) claim carers when you stop work.
Take lots of copies if the dla award and take it with you when you go out - most places will let you in free as a cater.
You can also get a CEA card for the cinema - a cadre (anyone) gets in free with DS
They can't legally enforce a part time timetable - Has he an ehcp ? If not why not ? (My day job is helping people through the system )
The home ed networks are great - you will have a local one on Facebook

Thank you DB.. he doesn't have a EHCP, but school think he should - but he needs the assessment first which we were going to do privately.. the NHS one is a 2 year wait.. School won't apply for one before that but are trying to build all this negative evidence against him to support one. I know they can't legally enforce the reduced timetable hence why I'm kicking back against it..
I'd heard about the additional things you could get with the DLA, someone had said about swimming pools, but I didn't know about the cinema, so thank you for that.
Also will go look up carers allowance, although I thought it had to be necessity rather than choice to claim that??
I've joined sooo many home ed groups on facebook and finding them really great.

Spent a lot of time this week turning half the kitchen into a space to store all the 'stuff' for home ed. DH calls it home ed corner! Have collated all the stationary and craft stuff together and put all their workbooks, colouring books and reading book there. Littlies just think Mummy has put all their craft stuff together as they still aren't aware of the plans.
Just looked up carers allowance and will apply for that when we start.
Up to 9.10 on pbase, so pretty close to payout on that. No other surveys this weekend.
really upping my reading at the moment around HE groups, events and philosophies.. have a sketchy plan in my head as to how we will approach it, but fully expect this to change as time progresses.
DS had a review this week which his Occ Therapist sat through and tutted at some of the stuff the School hasn't done / has done. They are in School this week as am I for a meeting with the Head. feel like I need to prepare myself for battle as I've said to the OT the Head will protest they have done everything possible for DS and that he is uncontrollable and a danger to others (they describe a boy I don't recognise at all)
I know I'm biased, but he really such a sweet boy, kind, polite, thoughtful and clever.. but School don't see any of this / don't want to see this.
Anyway, what does it matter, they will both be out of there soon. I've still got DD crying most days about going and saying how much she wants to stay with me, though her upset is totally linked to lack of friends since they moved School. Makes me smile as School tell me how happy she is, that she is surrounded by friends etc..DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)
