I wouldn't have even thought of an energy company going bust - how annoying. I hope you don't lose out because of this. Typical that you're in credit too.
I'm sorry to hear what's been happening with your son. I have found that schools are very good at promising things but not very good at following through. Would you be entitled to any benefits if you stopped working? Could you get DLA for DS? If he can't cope with mainstream school it seems likely that he would be eligible.
I guess the system is set up for the average child and sadly it's entirely down to the parents to sort out the mess when their child doesn't fit the mold.Mortgage (Start Sep 2014)- £70,295/£0 - 100%

So I cancelled the DD for the electric, despite advice because as you say gally girl, I'd rather owe them money that the other way around. Worst case they have £91 of our money.
Surprisingly we've had notification of who we are moving to and they will honour the tariff and the length of the tariff, we move over today, so will take a meter reading today and update our detail with MSE energy club and then move in a few weeks if it indicates we are better off elsewhere.
Amy - interesting you should say that, a friend mentioned their cousin had got DLA for their child who has the same as DS and I downloaded the forms yesterday and will put in a claim as I think he could get it. I did speak to the Head the other day and they assured me they would keep him at School. They are trying to find funding for a 1-2-1 TA for him and he's been referred to another set of professionals with the School. he doesn't need a TA academically at all.
Lurgy has hit me, kids are still off, so plan for today is duvet day and doing that DLA form which is massive.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

I don't envy you the DLA form. Is there anywhere locally where they help you to fill it in? We used to have a great service at the library where advisors would book an hour or two to help people, but budgets were slashed and now they're only open 2 half days a week. They'd basically fill it in for you. Hopefully there's something nearby.
If you get the DLA, I assume you could then apply for Carer's Allowance but I'm not 100% on that. I only have a vague knowledge as I used to deal with some of the benefits stuff at the library. You could definitely get a Leisure pass if you lived in our area. Anyone with DLA gets reduced cost swimming and can take anyone with them at the reduced price.
I hope the school's plans come to fruition and your son gets the help he needs. We're regularly told that as DD has no academic special needs she doesn't need help but obviously that isn't the case with lots of children.Mortgage (Start Sep 2014)- £70,295/£0 - 100%

Thanks Amy, I'm fine completing it.. it's just the length and the amount they are asking for.
I will wait to see the outcome before I look into anything else. Whilst DS doesn't have educational support needs, at this time - he cannot control himself at School, hence the need for an adult to be with him at all times. pretty depressing really as it makes him sound like a nightmare, whereas he's a kind, sensitive little boy who has difficulty processing the world around him. :-)DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Well littlies are off School for the rest of the week. DS off to Docs again as we have some suspicious looking spots on his face and I need to check if they are infectious. Don't see the point of sending them back tomorrow for one day when it's swimming all morning and they will just be cold and wet.
Much excitement for their advent calendars this morning - feels like we are well on the way to Christmas now!DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

DD was very excited about her advent too. She got a Playmobil cow, which she was disappointed about.
It will be better in a few days when we have more little figures!

Well, defo off School for rest of week as he is infectious, but hopefully he won't share it with all of us..
Just got £3 from pcone and some fleabay profits so £5.33 sent to CC2 and £2 put towards the emergency fund which is now £37.
Just skimmed over an article about matched betting seeing how well SJ has done, not sure if I'm brave enough to have a go..
In other news, I'm over £32 on 1poll nowDFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)
