Salmond and Sturgeon Want the English Fish for More Fat Subsidies

Yes I was forgetting just what a genetic gift the SNP have for administrative matters.
Health outcomes in Scotland put NHS England to shame.
Getting better though. Generational/universal/geographical/demographical health outcomes usually take a little longer than 8 years to make major measurable differences on.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

I have tried to get along with Glasgow, but I just find it immensely depressing, very crude and uncouth. And by far the most 'nails on a chalkboard' accent of anywhere in Britain. Worse than Birmingham and that's saying something.
Edinburgh is a wee bit better, certainly more progressive and cosmopolitan, but such a nightmare to get around..... Traffic, that godawful one-way system, full of politicians, etc. All of the day to day downsides of London but few of the benefits.
Not that I'm opinionated or anything....
But seriously I think most of Scotland looks on the small fraction of our nation that is the central belt with the same bemused thoughts most people in the UK think about London and the SE.
We sort of understand why people would live there, if they absolutely had to, for work...
But just can't fathom why anyone would choose to live there if it wasn't absolutely necessary.
Or, like Scotland, is the central valley where the vast majority of people already live anyway?;)There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
You no heard Loki ?
Och he did a few no bad wee speeches during indy ref with RIC ... he's a rap artist that tends to win a few awards ... fell out with NC publicly
He's alright ... but he's Loki lol
No. I'm a 40 something Depeche Mode fan lol. Rap.. ewww no. And RIC wasn't something I followed well during the ref apart from their excellent door to door voter registration campaign. And being next door to the Hydro the day Nicola Sturgeon was there.
I think some people are just impatient for something radical to happen. And the SNP just aren't going fast enough for them. Loki, RISE and others who are all yearning for some sort of hard left revival will just have to wait and earn it on their own merits over a number of years. Like most political parties do. Because at the moment, they're ALL riding on the back of SNP coat tails one way or another.
It seems the only way these parties and people can generate adequate publicity for themselves is to write rants against the SNP and their voters to make sure they get any coverage. Blimey, he's got Hamish reading Bella ! What does that say ? ..
They're all at it. ( Alex Bell a few weeks ago, coincidentally launching a new magazine in need of cash ).... They've learnt all they have to do is come out with something really negative SNP wise to garner maximum eyeballs on pixels. Folks like Hamish and wider online unionist stalwarts/media all jump on it immediately and share widely understandably. They'll learn the same way Labour is doing I dare say. That ultimately they need their own policies and alternatives. The market for anti-SNP rants is well and truly over saturated.
But at the end of the day, people like Loki/Alex Bell are just riding on SNP coat tails even when being negative about them. There's no story otherwise. It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

They really did describe you guys to perfection you know...
Anyway, think what you like about us 'minority voters', we're happily watching the Yes movement tear itself apart in articles and comments sections like that one.
I saw this a couple of days ago and remember Loki from the days prior to the Referendum. Recently there have been more than a few dissenting opinions being expressed by hardliners and activists on social media. Quite fascinating to read, and on several different subjects too. Including discussion of the stifling of honest critical journalism from Angela Heggarty of Common Space, by some SNP/Yes supporters. And on the choice for the list seats.
Have the impression, some of our resident SNP/Yes supporters are being less than honest , not unusual when campaigning , or perhaps aren't as aware as they claim.
What I'm confident of is that general public will for the meantime continue to vote SNP, and in very large numbers for H/R. Lack of competent opposition due to carelessness and historic complacency.
There is however a difference in voting for Independence. And I'm confident the general public will not vote in the numbers needed for Independence anytime soon. In recent weeks some of the gloss is peeling off SNP. It had to happen in time, after missing the Indy Ref boat. Sturgeon is badly missing a side kick equal to the capable support she used to give Salmond. And looks a little lonely up here while Salmond goes solo with his herd in Westminster.

Och I reckon Swinney is having a ball ... just watch him on FMQ I can hear him laughing his backside off ... true he isn't really deputy material but she will find a suitable one of them soon enough, there's certainly plenty would be willing to step in ( not sure they would be any good though tbh)
Swinney is doing no too bad ... demon with the numbers0 -
I would nae like to take a penny home short in ma wages to him ... put it that way0

Yep I have been following the Common Space issue as well ...
I will be honest the Yes camp and the No camp do need to look at themselves ( not everyone ... but enough) there are many issues within both factions that need sorted ... Loki however needs to take his ego out of his writing, his assumptions are just that assumptions
And that's where it detracts from the real conversation0 -
Believe me he's getting a lot of stick as well .... think Rab did a reply to him ... he took it on the chin though
If they knew who Loki was they wouldn't be too keen to use him as an example lol
I do like him though ... maybe look at some of his other stuff to get a feel ... not all Yessers are who Loki think we are ...

I see that Alistair Carmichael: election court throws out attempt to unseat MP.
https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2015/dec/09/alistair-carmichael-lib-dem-election-court-throws-out-attempt-to-unseat-mp
I wonder how longl it will take for our gossip-acolytes to claim the judgement was all a Tory plot, or that doesn't matter because the poll conducted in a carefully chosen post code showed that 50.001% disagreed (*) and therefore it is the sovereign will of the Scottish people that Carmichael should be unseated.
(*) or somethingUnion, not Disunion
