how on earth have the English had a labour government foisted on them by the Scots?

how though do you think the English would feel having a SNP government foisted on them if they didnt vote for one ?

When the Labour Party has had a majority in Scotland but not in England yet it does across the UK it is just the same as when the SNP or Labour has had a majority in Scotland but not in the UK as a whole.

England almost always votes conservative. Times many England had a conservative majority of MP's but Scotland voted Labour so that's what we got. We've had a number of Scottish prime ministers too.

But we just accepted it as part of the democratic process.

To the extent of one Tory MP in England and getting a labour government ?

to the same extent as Yorkshire or any small part of a sovereign state

Scotland had an opportunity to be sovereign state (and hence constitutional different to Yorkshire) but reject that option

What part of Scottish democracy don't you understand?

Not sure of the point you're making. But not everyone can have the government they want. The English often get governments they don't vote for due to a large number of Scots voting for a different party.

Of course we could all go around waving the St Georges flag and form an English independence party. But we don't.

To be fair, a few thousand racist idiots have formed an English National Party and various variations on the theme. The vast majority of English people treat them with the contempt they deserve.

See I do quite like the idea of a party looking out for the people of England ... I just really don't like the fact it's a racist party :(

I suppose that is what divides us

many think we want a government and MPs that looks after all the peoples of the UK on an eqaul footing

clearly you prefer a divisive, sectarian, nationalist approach, predicated on the idea that the Scottish are 'different' from all the other peoples of the world.

there is a word for this .........

London didn't vote conservative and they have a conservative government. What makes your region of the UK so special?

I haven't followed the thread but as Generali says you can continue to reduce the region who don't get the government they wanted. If Scotland obtained independence and Edinburgh voted to stay in the UK, would they have the right? If not, why not, after all its what they voted for (this is an illustration)?

Take Catalonia. There will be people in the region who want to remain as part of Spain. Separating something that is stable and works pretty well on the basis of patriotism and an us vs them mentality is surely dangerous?
