coal burning power stations produce more radioactivity that nuclear

it can't be cleared up as it is spread out : only viable solution is to abandon the affected areas and relocate the people0 -
That was a very gentle piece of leg pulling. It was hardly Corbynista-style abuse.
If you think I was out of line feel free to report me. I find it amusing that someone feels the need to write stuff down on a web forum in such a way as to represent a Scottish accent.
I know these days people apologise at the drop of a hat. Frankly, if you found that offensive you need a much thicker skin.
Calling you Mr Baw Heed, was a very gentle piece of leg-pulling also. Which is why I added the wink smiley thing. No need to get all huffy. But the point still stands that when a topic moves from 'what do you think about Scotland' to 'what do you think about elantan's posts and her personal circumstances'... Then we're no longer talking about Scotland. And when things get personal, threads tend to get nasty. 'Gentle leg pulling' in pixels doesn't always translate that way to the person on the receiving end. Comprende ?It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

It's not and never has been the Scottish Governments job to mitigate UK wide and reserved matters such as Westminster budget cuts.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

Next April Scotland has the power to increase the rate of income tax. Be interesting to see what rate is set in the Autumn statement with an election on the horizon. Scotland could of course use the money raised to fund whatever they want.0 -

Actually it was a simple insult but I've got thick skin and I've been called far worse by far better people than you.
Let's put it differently: elantan, why do you write with a Scottish accent?0 -

I've been called an mad cult extremist by you in the past.. When I went to quote your 'gentle leg pulling banter' back in a post later.. the mods must've removed your posts.. My skin must be thicker than the mods here in terms of insults. Who knew.Let's put it differently: elantan, why do you write with a Scottish accent?
Don't bother answering this one elantan imo. There's little point. But it's up to you.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

Not really. These are powers from the old Scotland Act 2012, just coming into force 4 years later.. which will in turn be superceded by whatever the next round a la Smith/Vow/agrees to. Which Mundell is saying will be 'fast tracked'
The more things change, the more they stay the same. We'll have to wait and see what the SNP do. But the Scotland Act 2012 has been WELL overtaken by events. It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

Cause sometimes I'm in the mood to write with an accent and other times I'm not ... it's a mood thing really
Like sometimes I'm in the mood to wear my chanel no 5 perfume and other times my Chopard Wish perfume ... or listen to he levellers or classical music when I drive
I don't really feel the need to constantly remain the same in everything I do ... should I ?0 -

Reminds me of a Billy piper songLeft is never right but I always am.0 -
As an aside I seem to be the same when I speak, I can generally be guaranteed to be asked at least once a shift where I am from sometimes I ask people to guess ... the answers have ranged from the borders to up north but mainly Ayrshire, Glasgow or Fife way
I'm not even aware I speak with an accent .. I just speak how I speak ... probably something g to do with all the places I've lived in I imagine0
