What we have to remember here though ... Is the SNP didnt technically vote on the hunting ban ... just the mere threat of them forced a government climb down ...

Apparently even if EVEL is passed the SNP will still be allowed to vote on the fox hunting ban.

I still think the SNP were wrong to say they would vote on the bill, that wont change ... but they have managed to stir it up without even voting ...

Unlike the Non Scottish Tory and Labour Mp's that didnt even bother to turn up for the debate but voted in the Scotland bill ...

We become a more divided group of countries daily... that makes me happy I must say

absolutely agree that a second referendum looks increasingly likely next year, after the Scottish vote to become a one party state.

that presumably will be quickly followed by seeking to give all up all their new powers to the union of happy contented 'nations' in europe.

scottish tandems wouldn't wash there of course but happily they will be able to contribute their own money to the next Greek bailout:
it will make them feel very grown up and will help to mitigate the 300 years inferiority complex.

Yes they are very angry at the moment, they were promised real powers and have been voted down when they tried to get them ... There are a lot of angry people as well ... And if she were an Empress it wouldnt be Emperor ... atleast try and get the gender specified terms correct

The problem is that the Scottish people accepted a very vague promise in the Indy Ref.

It was just words...coming from politicians mouths too!

I have no problem with Scottish independence. I have no problem with another referendum.

However, if the next referendum does not go the SNP way then will you still be angry?

Where does it all stop? At what point do the 90+% rest of the UK just get fed up with things?

I agree it was very vague and stated so many times during indy ref. I think Alot of people were going with the whole meaning ( that wasnt actually stated)

Maybe try to remember not all Yes voters are SNP members. alot see the SNP as a means to an end.

I dare say it probably wont end till Independence, and then another set of issues will arrive to be solved.. kinda the same for every country in similar situations.

As for me being angry ... hell yeah I am, and its nowt to do with the SNP, I will probably still be angry when we are independent, :)

Just floating this out there ... but ... maybe the Fox Hunting issue is actually a side show?

There are so many things in the political arena at the moment : Greece ; Tunisia ; the EU negotiations ; the mass of stuff in the budget ; fracking ; 3rd runway etc.

Perhaps this is just a way for the SNP to remind the public and media that they are still around; that nothing has been resolved?

    It might be clever timing.

I would imagine it is a side show, Budget anyone? whilst we debate fiercely about foxes being hunted we are forgetting tax credits etc being cut ?

I dont think though it is the SNP that are behind this... More DC and the Tories, trying to cover up their cuts, and take the eye off the ball of Syria bombing ... Thing is though ... a lot of us are wise to them up here now ... whilst were having fun debating fox hunting were still learning and gathering information and support for the anti austerity and bombing of Syria ... and fracking ... cause lets not forget the fracking.

SALUG didnt stop their hard work just because the fox hunting bill was coming up ... oh no they managed to do both ... CW are on top of the austerity ( as are WFI)

The fox hunting is merely sharpening our arguments :)

    Maybe.

I suspect that it's 'dog whistle politics'.

Most people if asked will say that they are against fox hunting. Most people if asked what they want the Government to do won't mention fox hunting except the hard left and fox hunters.

As Mr Blair understood, fox hunting is really important to the hard left and to fox hunters. Nobody else gives a damn. I suspect this is a move to keep the hard left voters on side with the SNP rather than drifting back towards Labour, a party which actually has a chance of forming a Goverment for the United Kingdom.

What the SNP are really saying to the left is that they are really one of theirs, forget Labour and stick with us. Labour is just Red Tory these days. We will forgo our lesser principles to do what is really required: no backsliding on hunting. Anywhere. Ever.

    ...

The SNP really are the Tory's best not-so-secret weapon aren't they?

I'm convinced they helped the Torys achieve the majority in the GE.

Labour look indecisive when it comes to aligning formally with a separatist party like the SNP.

Tory MP numbers north of the border meant little anyway.

Cameron must be pretty pleased they are around. A similar sized parliamentary presence from UKIP would be a much tougher proposition!

Would love to see the Labour and Tory daily grievance list, they must be huge ... much bigger than the SNP

Not when you consider the criteria necessary to be included on the grievance list. Ie

Go beyond normal party political discourse to a grievance that is essentially Nationalistic in nature.
