    A serious question to Scots.

Are those incidents going to continue in Scotland?

    Is that the future?

Orchestrated PR stunts by desperate politicians within a knife-edge of losing their seats ? Probably...

Tell me, why when I've posted about Labour in East Renfrewshire, which is Jim Murphy's seat, phoning up a well known 'activist' at 8.30am this morning ( giving him plenty of time to 'ring round' in his words).. and knowing that there will be plenty of camera's there to film the inevitable 'protest' that ensues..

Would you ask a completely daft question like 'is this the future for Scotland' as if it's the Brixton riots or something ? :undecided

Jim Murphy has been doing 'event's' like this to crowds in the 10's for the last few weeks with nothing of note. He probably thought he could do with some 'egg action' to lift his profile again after his terrible performance in the last debate last night. Recreate those heady days when a splatted egg got him 24/7 coverage and Sky news actually wanted to speak to him. It seems Green and Labour activists in Bath today claimed 'first egg of the campaign' at David Cameron's bus sadly for him. ;)

I have to say as well, that tactical voting looks like it may well save him. ( Tory's - Labour ). He has a massive majority where he is, but is slightly behind in his seat polling wise. But why Labour would want to save him I have no idea. He's been a bit of a disaster all round for Scottish Labour. I would've thought a quick resignation and disappearance off the scene would have been far better for the party. Pouring cash and resources into someone else's campaign, like Katy Clark might have been a much better move.

If Jim is still in charge of Scottish Labour in 2016. Labour can wave bye bye to any comeback anytime soon most likely.
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?

So give us an answer. Do you support those SNP thugs, or don't you?

Do you support those Green thugs in Bath today that threw an egg at Cameron's bus ?

  • No real surprise here - and no "tensions" at "boiling point" around where I am.

In my view, and I accept it's just my view, Murphy is "at it". Glasgow, once a bedrock of Labour support, voted "Yes" last year. It's 3 days before an election, so he heads of into a City Centre street with a celebrity and a megaphone. According to the info above, one of his pals "leaks" the story to a nutter with a track record of hecking Jim. Cue cameras and "action".

The idea that Jim M would do today's event and not anticipate that reaction is daft. I in no way condone violence, indeed I condemn unreservedly any of it. But to go for the "ugly face of nationalism" is bollox. My son who voted "Yes" gets grief from some of his pals - I don't try to claim that all "No" voters are bullies as to do so would be inane drivel. Deoesn't stop the "ugly face of nationalism"-type nonsense coming up here though.

I don't imagine for one moment that Jim M didn't - dare I say - "hope" that some such thing might happen. He's a politician fighting for his job. Even if he survives as an MP, his Scottish Labour Group will possibly fit in a family car next week, so he may lose that Leadership job too. Certainly if he loses 75%+ of his seats, his coat in on a shoogly..

Shouldn't have happened - no doubt we'll hear soon of an enquiry into who put the nutter up to it..... aye right.

Name from the referendum when they were seen as the tories attack dogs, seen a few posters with it added on.no doubt will reappear for next years Hollyrood election.
Only way imo they will shake it off is to lead the pro EU referendum debate when it comes, they need to be really different to the Tories on something.

    Attack dogs!?
Again a rather juvenile and overly aggressive SNP narrative that shames the level of political discourse in Scotland right now.
    I do worry about Scotland.

Haha! Took a phone call earlier from her, on behalf of my wife, and she asked what my intentions were. I advised her she was better off trying to persuade my wife! :D
