the SNP would work very hard and closely with Labour so it would not vote them down.
They would not vote with the Conservatives as that has long been shown to be taken negatively in Scotland.
Unless the Conservatives and Lib/Dems, get enough to form another coalition, the likelihood is a Labour Minority government, supported by the SNP on a vote by vote basis.
The SNP said they would vote down a Labour budget as plans stand:

So the question is perfectly simple, what happens after the SNP vote down a budget, be it Labour or Tory?0 -

The answer is equally simple...SENIOR Labour figures are privately discussing a strategy for a second general election later this year.
party officials are looking at a second vote, which one MP described as a “very likely scenario”, .“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

More SNP mobs attacking opponents in Glasgow.Eddie Izzard and Jim Murphy have been forced to cut short a rally in Glasgow after angry protests.
The comedian, who has been a long-standing Labour supporter, hit out at "violent" and "aggressive" nationalist protesters as scuffles broke out on Monday morning.
Protesters, some waving SNP leaflets, attempted to drown them out, branding Mr Murphy a "traitor" and a "warmongerer"

That's the likely political answer.
The constitutional answer? Absolutely nothing at all. The old budget remains in place until it's replaced by a new one. In addition, opposition parties cannot vote to increase taxes so a minority Government failing to get a budget through couldn't have extra taxation foisted on it by opposition parties. This is governed by Standing Order 48:This House will receive no petition for any sum relating to public service or proceed upon any motion for a grant or charge upon the public revenue, whether payable out of the Consolidated Fund or the National Loans Fund or out of money to be provided by Parliament, or for releasing or compounding any sum of money owing to the Crown, unless recommended from the Crown.
The Crown in this case is the Government. The rest of it means that only the Government can put forward a vote to increase taxes.
Remember how I was saying that a big problem for the SNP will be that they don't really understand the rules at Westminster? Hmmm.
I wonder how they think they can vote down Trident. There will be no vote on Trident. The MoD will be allotted some money and will then spend it as they see fit (within certain limits).0 -

I wonder if the general population would punish the party that forced another election on us all?
9 months on from our referendum,I would expect the result to be approx the same, another PR one might change by a couple of points but not much, can't see a GE result changing much.
Parties should respect the result for 5 years and referendums should be time barred for about 8-10 years.I have a deep burning indifference0 -

They'll have to go away and present a more acceptable version that will be voted through. Minority governments work on consensus and compromise. This will also be true of the Lib Dems ( they've set out several 'red lines' of their own re budgets ) if they are working with the Tories again.
That's one of the consequences of not gaining an overall majority for any party.1/2 @NicolaSturgeon on @BBCNews: "If Labour propose a budget that was suggesting further austerity cuts...SNP wouldn't vote for that" #GE152/2 @NicolaSturgeon on @BBCNews: “that wouldn't bring the gov’t down. It would encourage the gov’t to…rethink its budget & come back.” #GE15It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

Yes looks really scary from tight camera angles.. not so much if you're at work a few hundred yards away. Looks a bit 'stage managed' if you ask me.. Stv had a full story up 7 mins after Jim and Eddie got there. Still, I suppose it's a stab at a smear, and will no doubt be in all the newspapers today/tomorrow.alex thomsonVerified account @alextomo Protesters told me they are not SNP members but "people of Glasgow" and "working class activists"It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

But waving SNP leaflets and tipped off by SNP press officers.
Honestly, you do yourself no favours when you blindly support the mob mentality here Shakey, just come out and condemn without reservation anyone who had anything to do with arranging it.
Including, in this case, the SNP.
There's now video up here as well, of the SNP mob screaming, blaring sirens, blasting music, and bing disruptive to try and drown out Izzard and Murphy.
Why are the SNP so scared of free speech?“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

Well actually they won't. The UK would just continue with the same budget until the budget the Government put up was voted for. That could continue indefinitely.
The opposition of course can't put up a budget. They can vote, I believe, to reduce specific taxes but not to increase them.0
