Well....Scotland does have poorer health outcomes than people South of the Border
--> so that covers "Doddery"
And...there is definitely an issue with an ageing population in Scotland.
--> so that covers "Old"
And...there is definitely a Nationalistic group in Scotland which believes it can wreak havoc in Westminster.
--> so that covers "Fools"0 -

A minor party, not UK wide, yet appears to win the debate between 7 leaders. Amongst them our current & next PM. Pretty impressive don't you think?
I'm particularly happy that the rest of the UK get to see why so many scots like & support SNP. They aren't the extremists Gen, Hamish & others paint them to be.
I am surprised that the SNP didn't produce a closer result in the referendum to be honest.
I think people are often vocal in the run up to an election or referendum, but when it comes to crunch time the old conservative (with a small c) tendencies emerge.0 -

It is impressive, I agree although I'd quite like to see the methodologies of the polls.
That project that you linked to indirectly is an interesting one: you take Twitter feeds and try to infer something from what people are Tweeting. We are trying to do something similar at work to try to see what companies people are discussing to see if that gives us some sort of advantage in investing our clients' money.
This Twitter mining will naturally be skewed towards the young and the passionate. I'm never going to get in an online row about V8s or Rugby League because I just don't care about it. Give me a Socialist or an Ar%enal fan and I'll be the next keyboard ninja.
The SNP seem to have a lot of young supporters (hence the age skew in the indie referendum) and, as Nationalists tend to be, they are fervent in their support.0 -

I know a young lad here in the NW who recently sold 2 websites to a Canadian investor.
And what service did theses websites provide ?
They created automatic twitter followers! Apparently, he never expected the response but interest came from the likes of Disney.
It's a strange place, this tinterweb..0 -

What was the website called? Very interested to look at it (PM me if you prefer).0 -

Not the same Twitter that attacks a poor guy that gets punched by a celebrity TV presenter.
Twitter is like politics. Full of soundbites and lacking any real substance. Easy to have rehearsed words. Far more difficult to be a born leader with vision. Something we are sadly lacking at the moment.0 -

Both the Times and the Telegraph calling it for Nicola Sturgeon too on their front pages tomorrow. Hardly SNP friendly. The Yougov poll is particularly surprising since it was a UK wide poll. I think the demonising of Salmond has been slapped aside good style tonight if nothing else. Nicola arrived on the radar instead... and didn't seem so bad after all for a lot of viewers not in Scotland. There's an awful lot of tweets asking when the SNP are going to field candidates in England.. and another 1300, wait, 1400... no it's 1500 new members too during the debate. She did really well.
I was just surprised the format actually worked ! I was expecting a total bun fight. Cameron sat back a bit though. Farage didn't get to grandstand, which was against his usual style.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0
