  • I'm not normally a materialistic person, but I'm surprised at how I'm looking forward to my granite top next Wednesday. It's costing a lot, but we've not been on holiday this yr :o After that we've more or less finished.

    How are things with you??

    For Feelie :A

    Tomorrow
    Clouds fill the sky;
    Your life darkens and the world disappears;
    Everything becomes totally meaningless.
    - But, as with time, the clouds will pass and
    reveal the sun which was there all the time.
    As you look into the sunlight, your face
    shines again whilst your shadow appears behind you.
    The future beckons as you hold out a
    nervous and shaking hand.
    One step at a time
    - One day at a time
    Slowly but surely your strength will grow
    and slowly but surely life will grow.
    There was a time when every day seemed like yesterday
    But there will come a time when today greets tomorrow;
    When your mirror becomes a window;
    It is then that you will see your future
    and not reflect on the past.
    Have Faith, have Courage and have Hope
    for you will survive.

    Sounds good to me, You will be out there screaming at the kids to keep it clean when it arrives :D Everything at this end is plodding along, I`m back to screaming at my teenager to get out her pit every morning to go to college. "But it`s cold" :rolleyes: I thought I had left all that behind when she left school :naughty:

    Thankfully my younger one takes after me and is up as soon as the alarm goes off :T

    I`m off to bed now, Feelie hope you feel a bit brighter tomorrow, Night Westy and GP. Talk to you soon :A

    10 months gone, and feeling miserable. Scares me when a craving comes up, but getting better at believing that it'll pass. The general down feeling is harder to deal with I find.

    Hey Feelinggood, what an achievement getting to ten months :T i you've done amazingly well. Sorry to hear you were feeling down the other day. i have found that the feeling down days have got further and further apart since practising the steps however i do remember the hopeless feeling that they will never go, i used to forget how quick i could feel well again and think that the down feeling had lasted all through my sobirty. i also remember the rollor coaster emotions i fely up and down day in day out. it did get better as i grew through and it continues to as i continue to grow,. i found that i would also start to think that tomorrow would be the same and it wouldnt get better ever, real projectional fear. i like what 2Pac said in one of his songs, "after the dark comes the sunlight of a new day" i find i can use the solgan keep it in the day with emotions as well as the staying away from the drink.

    How does a bunny say it´s happy?:j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j
    I´ve got my house. I´m off tonight to a meeting in Portimao where i shall have a double celebration. 1, Getting my house and 2, My AA birthday. 43 tomorrow.
    I have been so wrapped up in my own thoughts recently that I have not taken time to read some of the comments. Lewt , enjoy your new home. Feely, How marvelous to have come this far. The cravings leave us eventually but the mental obsession has remained with me even now. Every now and then it slips in and surprises me. My new neighbour said that he would come round with a bottle of champagne and for an instant I thought "wouldn´t it be nice". That took me by surprise.
    I still am not connected to the phone so my input to here will be intermittant.

    43 is an emense time in recovery...... i dont even know how long 43 is really as im only 27..... nice one on getting so far....

    I've had some good news today also. the place where i have been working is advertising for permanant staff theres 2 jobs. one os a full time support worker in the unit (what i'm doing now) and the other is a floating support for the service users out in the communinity.

    I knew the full time one would be coming up but was worried that i wouldnt be able to go for it as i have 2 other commitments and the shifts change. so the other one even though it is only part time has been a real blessing in coming up. as its monday wendsday and friday and the comitments i have are on tuesdays and thurdays. then leaving the weekend to earn some extra...... :) funny the way these things work out when we have god in our life aint it :)
