Credit Card Amount Increase without my Consent

Barclaycard would have notified you and given the opportunity to not have it increased.0

They did notify you!0

OP you havnt got a leg to stand on re getting your debt wiped, so use this as a lesson in life and dont make the same mistakes in future.
Maybe sell some of the tat you spent the £9000 on, and get reducing the balance as quickly as possible.0 -
My original question is that they should not increase my limit without asking me first. I can't be the first person surely to raise this question? There must be other people out there thinking the same.
So, based on your admitted inability to control yourself, what would you have said if they had asked you first? No? Yeah right!0 -
Imagine for a moment that I'm a farmer, and live nearby.
I come round one day and say to you I've got 6 spare eggs each week, how about I bring a few round leave them by your door - any you use you pay me 10p each for.
You agree, and we're all good.
A few weeks later I notice you've used all 6 that I drop by, and you pay me promptly. So I think to myself - "This is a good customer, and is clearly using all my eggs!", so next week I drop off a dozen.
Have I done anything wrong by dropping off 12 eggs rather than 6?
If you used all 12, would you expect to only pay 60p because I used to only drop off 6?

I remember when I said I wanted to close my account after I paid it off and the person on the phone said that they couldn't transfer me to the department that closes the account as they do not have the option on the phone and could not provide me with a number either. I would love to get the recording for that voice message does anyone know if they still hold voice records for calls still?
Absolute nonsense I cancelled a Barclaycard with one phone call no issues at all. Even if that did happen why didn't you escalate the call to a manager or simply make another phone call and get a different person.
Doesn't change anything you spent the money your problem. Credit limit increases are always well notified so that you have the option to reject it.
I have credit limits of over £26000 do I use them up to there limit of course not I use what I know I can comfortably repay.
You will get absolutely nowhere with any complaint.0 -
Taking that one step further. You put a note with the first box of eggs saying...Imagine for a moment that I'm a farmer, and live nearby.

"As part of this agreement, I may increase the number of eggs I leave on your doorstep from time to time. However, as per the original terms, you will still only have to pay for those you use. All others left and not used will not be charged for. If you would like me never to leave more than 6 eggs, please let me know".
OP, recognise the last line of the above? If not, then read your Barclaycard T&Cs again!0 -

Yes you have done something wrong!? You giving me more eggs that I did not want do not give me more if I have not asked for extra in the first place! God customer or not, you are implying that because I am good customer you making me feel guilty to take them. Emotional blackmail. Parasite!0 -
You are not allowed any of my eggs.0

How's about we agreed 6 eggs end of story. Why you leaving me more eggs when I did not ask for more? I don't care if you THINK I want more you don't give me more, if I want more I will ASK for more.0
