An iPhone will be locked to the first network whosever sim you insert with the exception of if you purchase from Apple or Giffgaff.
also some contract phones from CPW will also be unlocked. I have a Blackberry Z10 on an Orange Contract that i got from CPW and this was never locked to Orange0 -

Call up Barclays and explain the situation to them - if you haven't already got a phone registered on under your Barclays Addition insurance then they may be cool with you adding it and providing insurance for the phone retrospectively; the exact situation transpired when my brother lost his phone.
He had to pay a £50 excess, and received a new (albeit refurbished) replacement within a few days.0 -

Not quite correct. A network iPhone will be locked to the network, not the first sim, and all contract phones from CPW (except iPhone) will be unlocked.====0 -

WRONG. An iPhone only gets locked once the 1st sim is inserted, unless this is another thing a major company has to consult with MSE about.0 -

I'm not wrong (no matter how loud you try and shout), network iPhones are locked to that network, not first sim.
So i will inform Apple they must consult MSE on their own products.
Apple provide iPhones all unlocked and apart from those sold direct via Apple or GIFFGAFF they lock to the network of the first sim installed0 -
So are you saying if I buy an iPhone subsidised from Vodafone and insert an O2 sim it will be locked to O2 and not Vodafone ?WRONG. An iPhone only gets locked once the 1st sim is inserted, unless this is another thing a major company has to consult with MSE about. It's not just about the money0 -

I think you will find he was telling porkies myself, it would not explain where all the bloated network stuff comes from if that was the case.According to a guy in my local Apple store yes as they provide all iPhones unlocked to providers and retailers that locks to provider once sim is insertedIt's not just about the money0 -

Go back and tell his manager the guy is talking nonsense to customers.
A Vodafone iPhone is supplied by Apple with the sim lock set to Vodafone, an EE one has the simlock to EE. First sim only applies to CPW stock (always for simfree, sometimes for contract as they sometimes get network locked stock for contracts as well).====0
